A sterling silver cut glass & celluloid smelling salts bottle dated 1922. This fine quality 2-3/8" high bottle features a celluloid insert in the sterling silver top and a panelled cut glass base. The bottle retains the original brown cotton batten and the hand cut fitted glass stopper. The silver is stamped with a full set of hallmarks for Birmingham, England 1916 and it has the maker's mark for Percy James Finch of Birmingham (est. 1916). The top has the engraved dedication "TO 'GRANDMA' FROM ERIC 1923" and this personal grooming or hygiene item is in very good condition with no cracks, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs other than one small shoulder chip and bottom rim chips to the glass, a later scratched property identification number and a small dent below the 1 in 1923 on the silver. An Edwardian 14k yellow gold seed pearl heart and flower lavaliere necklace circa 1910. This beauty measures 21-3/4" long and it has a central drop in the shape of a heart with a central flower. It has seed pearls and the drop measures 2-3/4" across (all three segments) and 1-1/2" deep. It is marked 14K and it weighs 7.7 grams. The delicate and (probably) shorter original fine chains have been replaced with flat curb link chains with a springring clasp and this necklace is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs other than the replaced chains. A Monarch silver plate handled fruit or bread basket from the 1890s. This great wedding or table decor item has three feet, a fancy swing-up handle and a fancy rim as well as central engraving. It measures 9-3/8" across and it stands 9-1/2" tall to the top of the handle. It was made and marked by the Monarch Silver Co. (a division of the Standard Silver Co. of Toronto, established in 1893). A pair of Roden (Birks) sterling 1930s napkin rings. Roden (of Toronto) was bought out by Birks in 1928. These 5/8" wide sterling napkin ring measures 1-3/4" across and they have the Roden maker's mark and STERLING. Birks bought all Roden's inventory and parts and molds, and the Roden mark can be seen on some Birks silver items until several years after. They weighs 13.0 grams and they are in excellent vintage condition with no breaks, bends, corrosion, losses, or repairs. One has a very shallow Janie monogram and the other is blank. A signed Dafri copper ultramodern pin brooch and earrings set from the 1950s. This Toronto Canada company made some great looking items and this is one of them - a very Jetsons kind of anamorphic style. This set includes the 2" across pin with a safety clasp and an applied copper planchet identical to the 1-5/8 x 1" clip-on earrings. Each has some mild black patination and the pin has the DAFRY signature planchet. An antique Kearsley hand coloured snake copper plate engraving print from 1801. This is a really fine example and it is entitled "VIPER-HEADAED SNAKE", from the original by James Heath. Published in 1801 for inclusion in "Kearsley's Systematic Natural History" series published in various volumes and with various topics beginning in 1800, this plate is from Volume 3 "Amphibia", published in 1802. Notations on the print include: VIPER-HEADED SNAKE, 1801 JANy 1 LONDON PUBLISHED BY G. KEARSLEY FLEET STREET., HEATH SCULP., 121. It has been mounted in a 14" x 11-1/2" mat which has been wrapped in plastic with a printshop's label. The size of the viewable print is 8" x 5". An Algonquin lidded sewing or yarn basket circa 1930s. This lovely Native American 10" tall and 6-1/2" across utility sewing basket has large hoop handles and the lid has a coiled wood yarn guide opening on the lid. It retains traces of the original natural dyes on the exterior while the interior of the body and lid show the bright red, orange and green of the original colours. An authentic 1920s slag glass scenic chandelier ceiling lamp. This hexagonal 16" across and 12" deep beauty features caramel swirl slag glass panels, an upper gallery of blue, purple and caramel slag panels and a lower skirt of blue, purple and deep yellow panels resembling cloudy sky under cutout scenic gold patinated and lacquered brass framework structure of a house with trees. It is unsigned, it has the original gilded brass canopy and it has been resocketed and rewired. We've shown it lit with a 25 watt candle bulb but a higher wattage will look quite impressive. A pair of gilt brass roses metalwork table lamps with marble bases from the 1930s 1940s. These beauties stand 25-3/4" to the tops of the original finials and the bases are genuine black veined marble. They may actually date from the 1920s and they have been rewired and resocketed. The pleated silk shades shown are later (and were on the lamps when we acquired them) and they can be included if you wish (they have minor staining/spotting) but that will raise the shipping costs substantially. The antiqued patination is intact but attractively mellowed and the metalwork could use a good, gentle cleaning.
