A JG Graves Sheffield sterling silver swing-out key pocket watch 1902. This English sterling silver key wind cased pocket watch is by JG Graves of Sheffield, England. Graves (1866-1945) was a watchmaker, entepreneur and benefactor, and this watch is hallmarked for Chester 1902, with the swing-out case having the Graves maker's mark. The watch is 2" across and the works measure 1-9/16" across the plate. They are inscribed J.G. GRAVES SHEFFIELD REVERSING PINION No688375. The single sunk dial has gold toned hands and it has THE "EXPRESS" ENGLISH LEVER in red and a black script G.S. GRAVES SHEFFIELD (indicating a late issue). It has an engine turned and engraved design on the back of the case and the back dust cover is unmarked. It is key wind and adjustment is by a nut at the pivot of the hands on the dial. This watch includes a later plastic base and dome cover, and it is in good condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs - the case, porcelain dial and works all appear intact, clean and undamaged however this watch doesn't run and the crystal has some minor abrasions. An Art Deco French jet and orange cut glass beaded flapper sautoir necklace with a tassel from the 1920s. No Jazz age flapper would have been complete without a necklace that moved with a tassels - people danced more at parties and weddings in that time. This one is genuine Art Deco (NOT a reproduction) and the necklace hangs 16" long not including the 5-1/8" tassel sautoir drop. The orange beads are 3/16" across with tiny black spacers and the French jet (black glass) beads include round, teardrop and oval shapes, all with facets. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs and all beads are in undamaged condition however there is some loose thread at the tassel mount and although intact it would probably be prudent to have this necklace restrung. A Fa Dahlia Dutch 835 solid silver pastry pie lifter or cake server dated 1920. This ornate European silver 8-1/2" dessert server features a high relief village scene, flowers and a mythological mask on the pierced work blade and the stem is fancy as well. This fine dining or tea table serving piece is topped with a finely detailed sailing ship. It has various Dutch hallmarks including the .835 silver mark, the K date mark (for 1920) and the maker's mark for Fa. Dahlia. It is nicely cast and finished and it weighs 77.3 grams. An antique Dutch silver hand made miniature fireplace from 1900 or earlier. This unusual and well-made decorative miniature stands 1-5/8" high and 1-7/8" wide. It has a tooled gallery around the back plate, an integrated fire fender and floor surround and a space in the bed of the fireplace possibly for a wood cradle or grate (not present). It has an array of silver stamps including the Dutch sword mark and others - some may be import and maker's marks or resale marks (Dutch items were required to be marked each time an item is sold). A pair of Zig Zag confection tin lithograph premium miniature cups circa 1900. These scarce advertising miniature tin cups were given away as premiums in Zig Zag confections at the turn of the century. The first has floral decoration and the D.L. Clarke company logo and name, a box of the Zig Zag confection and the name of the Franz Euler Co. of New York, the manufacturers of the premiums and advertising items used by Clarke to promote their products. Zig Zag was a product similar to Cracker Jack, and these premiums were included in boxes of the product. The other cup depicts the confection box as well as a picture of Clarke's Zig Zag Pepsin gum. Each is lithographed with bright colours and each has interior and bottom gold toning. They are in very good condition with the following condition issues: 1)the first cup has a bent handle, some minor losses to the gold wash, and some moderate scrapes and dings to the decoration, however the graphics are strong and legible 2)the second (gum) cup has an intact handle and it is somewhat less scraped than the other. This elegant set consists of the 9-1/2" x 4-3/4" faux alligator papered fitted box, the Japanese language "Cloisonne Making" fold-out pamphlet, the 3-5/8" covered cigarette jar, three 3-3/8" bowl-shaped ash trays, and the 17" x 9-1/2" fringed woven table mat. This set has an Organo mark on the bottom, possibly for Organo of Japan, a now world-wide Japanese company specializing in water treatment (they began in 1946, this may be an older company logo). A vintage Mt. Washington Quilted Diamonds huge rose bowl. This true vintage Victorian cased glass rose bowl is in attractive aqua blue and it dates around 1890. This 5-1/4" high and 6-1/4" across crimped edge posey vase is in the satin finish Quilted Diamonds pattern, produced by Mt. Washington glass. This IS NOT a reproduction, but the real thing, as can be seen in our pictures, which show the soft irridescent design. A genuine, vintage hand embroidered and beaded Pashtun tablecloth or tray cover cloth from the early part of the 20th century. These decorative embroidered and beaded textiles were made to show off the skills of young women in contemplation of marriage and this was brought back from Afghanistan in the 1960s. It is typically brilliantly coloured and it measures 33" x 27" (that measurement includes the beaded strands, which are approximately 1/1/2" in length). It is in excellent vintage condition with no major losses, holes, insect damage, fading, tears, damage or repairs. There are a couple of loose threads on the fringe and a touch of soiling but the cotton, silk, wool and silver threaded edging (which used to be known as cloth of silver, I believe) remain in remarkably fine condition.
