A stunning hand painted Art Nouveau porcelain centerpiece 1890 1900. This true Nouveau table decoration is likely German or Austrian. This 14-1/4" tall and 10-1/4" wide decorative item would look good on the table or on the mantlepiece. Constructed of two pieces, the bowl and base, it has a figure on a column in the center of the lower bowl, which has finely molded openwork flowing handles. All parts of this display piece are fully handpainted, from the finely detailed face to the fine gold highlights. The finish is mostly matte, with the interiors, body of the figure and central panel in a gloss surface. The interiors of the bowls have a lustre finish. The bowl attaches to the base column with a brass cylindrical mount and sleeve, and this ornate piece is unmarked. The condition of this item is remarkable - it has survived completely intact with no wear, losses or any damage whatsoever over the last 110 or so years. A quality late 19thC 750 silver jug with baronial crests by J Wagner and Sohn ( Son ) Germany. This antique 5-1/4" tall cream pitcher has a wrythen or twisted groove style and a thumb rest as well as classic hoof shape feet. It is stamped J. WAGNER & SOHN 750 M, it weighs 195 grams, and it has two finely engraved baronial heraldic crests engraved on one side indicating that it was probably originally a wedding present. A Victorian bisque double shell young boy figural mantle vase from the late 1800s. This 5-1/4" tall figurine is fully hand painted and of top quality - quite like the fineness of Schafer & Vater. It consists of a young boy with a hat seated between two shells. The vase is in a nice greenish/blue colour and it has lots of gold jewelling. It is unsigned except for a painted 74 and a faint impressed underglaze 524 (we think). A group of four hand painted German porcelain cups and saucers by Helena Wolfsohn c1870s-80s. Each has fine floral decoration with garlands and gold trim and highlights, both inside and out. Each has a blue ground and all have the blue Wolfsohn backstamp (crowned D over Hand painted Dresden Saxony). One has "Handgemalt" instead of handpainted, and all have the gold rose overstamp. The cups stand 2" high and the saucers are 5-7/8" across, and each saucer also is stamped with a retailer stamp. An attractive 19thC American (or Canadian) pattern or pressed glass stoppered decanter with what appears to be an double leaf motif (one over the other) not dissimilar to a maple leaf. This 9-1/2" tall (with stopper) blown-mould decanter retains its original stopper; the detail and relief are sharp and well defined, and this unusual piece, whose maker and pattern unknown to us, is in excellent original condition with no cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than some chips to the bottom of the stopper (see image). We would be happy to add the name of the pattern if any knowledgeable glass person would care to drop us an email. Although we aren't sure of the pattern name, we are sure this is antique pattern glass - it is guaranteed to be vintage glass and not a reproduction. A 7-1/2" German or Austrian porcelain hand painted figurine of a bugler. This mid to late 19th century figure features fine hand painting with gold, orange, blue, tan and realistic flesh colours; it is in a style similar to Heubach figures, but many European factories of this period were producing such figures, and it has a shiny rather than matte glaze. It is unsigned except for a painted XX, and it is in very good original condition with no chips, crazing, losses, damage or repairs other than a tight crack on the base at the back and some gilt wear. There are original glazed firing cracks at the elbows, right front leg and hat at the thigh, but these are original to the manufacture of the piece, not later damage. A Royal Worcester 6-1/4" face or mask jug with gold made in 1897. This exquisitely detailed jug has superb hand applied gold decoration in the form of wild daisies with yellow and reddish centers along with wild grasses. The gold is thickly applied with ridges and jewelling and the ornate handle is gold as well. The mask or face on the spout is crisp and detailed and this jug has the Grainger Royal Worcester China Works mark with the G year code for 1897. The creamy satin finish glaze is quite attractive and this jug or pitcher has a 328 pattern or shape number. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs. A Minton wild strawberries A2625 hand painted berry or fruit bowl dated 1866. This Victorian beauty measures 9-3/8" across and it features finely handpainted leaves, flowers and wild strawberries all in high relief. This bowl is similar to other antique Minton patterns however we haven't definitively identified it. It has the impressed MINTON mark (used from 1862-71, later MINTONS) and a date cypher resembling that used for 1866. This bowl is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, damage or repairs other than some wear and loss to the paint on the high points of the design. This is minor and most apparent on one strawberry, a few leaves and the roots of the plants. An R.A. Kidston 20" London scene United Kingdom meat platter circa 1840. This is an early Scottish large blue transferware well and tree meat platter in blue transfer. This platter stands on two bracket feet and the juice well; it is stamped R.A.K. & Co. UNITED KINGDOM LONDON for R.A. Kidston and Co. Finnieston (part of Glasgow) Scotland who used this mark from 1838-1845. The Coysh & Henrywood Blue and White Printed Pottery reference book mentions this series, but not this actual scene of London - I have never run across this pattern piece before. It is in good condition with no cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than some fine overall crazing, a bit of minor bruising to one foot rim (intact with no losses), a 5/8" edge chip and some staining (mostly on the back). An exceptional Victorian Tunbridge Ware trinket or dresser box circa 1850s. Tunbridgeware was made as souvenir ware in England and Scotland. It consists of tiny inlaid exotic wood tesserae in geometric designs. This 4-3/8 x 4-1/4" and 1-3/4" high example has a repeating floral pattern on the top, a Greek key design on the sides and a bird's eye maple ground. The lid appears to be rosewood and the box is quite heavy. It retains the original colours which include green, yellow, red and gold and the workmanship is superb. It is in remarkable intact condition with no fading, chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than a bit of warping to the lid. The hinges are intact and our pictures don't even come close to showing the fine detail of this folk art box. A vintage Victorian English silverplated footed salver with fine hand engraving. This 19th century 12" serving tray features a scalloped edge with modified shell decorations; the engraving has shells, boughs, florals and fruits as well as a complex monogram in the center. A Barbour Silver Co. silver plated tilt kettle, stand and associated burner from the 1890s. It has a simple, elegant design and it stands 13" tall from the top of the ebony wood handle to the bottom of the stand's ball feet. The base is unsigned, the kettle is stamped BARBOUR SILVER CO. NICKEL SILVER 4002 (operating from 1892-98) and the associated burner has the Meriden stamp. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends or corrosion, however the handle supports have been resoldered to the kettle, the kettle and stand appear to have been replated and the flame smothering cap on the burner has broken off and is lost (but it can be repaired or the burner can be replaced with a similarly sized one). Majolica grape and vine pitcher with a pewter lid with a leaf motif, most likely for serving wine outdoors circa 1880s. It is 8-1/2" tall and hand painted in brown, blue and green colors. It is unmarked except for what looks like a 70 painted onto the bottom. Majolica is an antique form of pottery, with a great revival of interest in the 19thC. This item is in excellent condition for its age and use, with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some overall crazing and two burst glaze bubbles (one on the handle and one on the side) as well as the expected manufacturing artifacts seen on vintage majolica. A scarce covered jar in the early American pressed or pattern glass Festoon pattern, issued by Beatty Brady Glass Co. (Indiana 1898). An E.J.D. Bodley Bamboo pattern trivet dated 1879. This 6-3/4" hexagonal shaped English bone china trivet was produced by E J D Bodley of Burslem, England. This plate has high relief bamboo decoration with a green border and thickly applied gold highlights; it has the English registry mark for a manufacture date of 1879 (this Bodley mark was used from 1875-92). It is stamped BODLEY B E.J.D.B Y3570 on the back, and this dinnerware item is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs. Made by many firms over many years, this collection was made by Haviland & Co. Limoges, France. All pieces are stamped with the H&Co. or H&Co/L mark; the entree dishes have an impressed English registry mark (for 1871) plus an underglaze impressed H & Co. It is probable that Haviland purchased the blanks from an English firm for decoration and sale to the English market. All serving pieces have maritime or rope twist handles. A 19th century Tunbridge Ware inlaid roses box. This 6 x 2" Tunbridge ware box has a central panel of inlaid small squares of wood arranged in a roses pattern. This box is composed of various woods and it is well-constructed. It is unsigned and it has a (replaced) velvet liner. A 19thC china child with doll in washtub figurine. This unusual and well made hand painted late 19th century porcelain figural whimsey or decorative figure is of a girl holding a Pierrot doll over a washtub. This European 3-5/8" across and 3-3/4" high figurine has gold trim and fine handpainting; it is unsigned except for a 2219 (or 2279) and a 49 stamped on the bottom. This item is in very good original condition with no cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs other than some paint scrapes to the hat, a shallow chip or flake under the hat's rim (just visible to the left in the pictures) and some minor gold loss. An antique Dutch silver hand made miniature fireplace from 1900 or earlier. This unusual and well-made decorative miniature stands 1-5/8" high and 1-7/8" wide. It has a tooled gallery around the back plate, an integrated fire fender and floor surround and a space in the bed of the fireplace possibly for a wood cradle or grate (not present). It has an array of silver stamps including the Dutch sword mark and others - some may be import and maker's marks or resale marks (Dutch items were required to be marked each time an item is sold). This hand wrought decorative miniature weighs 19.6 grams and it is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs however there are two solder bumps at the top of the back plate where it may have had hoops attached for wear as a pendant at some time in the past. A vintage Victorian period porcelain pink lustre 5 piece condiment or cruet set depicting a playing pair of cherubs or children with the legend "A present from Rathdowney" (a town located in County Laois, Ireland). This 5-3/8" across set is 5-1/4" deep and stands 4-1/2" high with the lids and shaker insert. It includes the base with molded leaf decoration, gold trim and the original spoon for the lidded mustard pot; the shaker inserts into one of the cups. The lustre is a Sunderland pink, popular in the mid to late 19th century, and this set has an incised 776 on the bottom and was most likely made originally in Austria or Germany, and sold in Rathdowney. This set is in excellent original condition with no cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs other than a touch of gold wear and a small 1/8" interior shallow rim chip on the mustard bowl and a small loss to the transfer decoration. There are the expected bits of frit and the mustard lid is original but is not a precise fit. A true survivor. This is a 6-3/4" x 5" double well papier-mache tea caddy with ornate decoration with a porcelain miniature c1850-60. This attractive tea caddy stands 4-1/4" high and the hinged lid lifts to reveal the twin compartments, whose lids have hand carved and decorated mother-of-pearl grips. The wells have a gray painted lining. It has conical decorated gilt brass feet and ornate hand painted polychrome and gold decoration on the lid, base and front panel. An unusual feature consists of a gilt brass mount holding a hand painted porcelain miniature of a lady on the lid. This box retains the original lock (no key), and it has some condition issues: losses to the lid's corners, some loss and darkening to areas of the decoration due to a fire which coated the box in soot, loss of gilding to the portrait's brass mount, splitting of one wood foot, some craqueleur to the black finish, damage to the hinge mounts on the lid (which is detached from the hinges). The soot was gently removed and a lot of the decoration remains - otherwise this is a survivor which can be restored. This handsome caddy is sold in as is as described condition, we do not know a restorer. -8" in length and 1 1/16" at the widest dinner forks. They are by the same maker, and are the same pattern from the same set, but one has a different year stamp. Two of the forks are hallmarked Edinburgh 1857-58, and four are hallmarked Edinburgh 1881-2. They are all the same size (8" in length and 1 1/16" at the widest), they average 75 grams each, and all have what appears to be a beaver rampant crest. The maker is the same - RG - who may possibly be either R. Green or R. Grierson of Edinburgh. They are all in excellent condition with no worn spots, pitting or damage, & none have been initialled. They show only very minor & expected surface scratches that come from ordinary use, and all are in excellent condition for their age. - $125 ea
-7" in length and 1 1/2" at the widest dessert or soup spoons. They are by the same maker, and are the same pattern from the same set, but two have a different year stamp. Four of the spoons are hallmarked Edinburgh 1857-58, and one is hallmarked Edinburgh 1855-56 (the earlier spoon is 1/16" shorter in length). All have what appears to be a beaver rampant crest and they average 37 grams each. The maker is the same - RG - who may possibly be either R. Green or R. Grierson of Edinburgh. They are all in excellent condition with no worn spots, pitting or damage, & none have been initialled. They show only very minor & expected surface scratches that come from ordinary use, and all are in exceptional shape for their age. - $79 each
-6 1/2" in length and 15/16" at the widest dessert or fruit forks. They are by the same maker, and are the same pattern from the same set, but three have a different year stamp. Four of the forks are hallmarked Edinburgh 1855-56, and three are hallmarked Edinburgh 1881-2. All have what appears to be a beaver rampant crest and they average 38 grams each. The maker is the same - RG - who may possibly be either R. Green or R. Grierson of Edinburgh. They are all in excellent condition with no worn spots, pitting or damage, & none have been initialled. They show only very minor & expected surface scratches that come from ordinary use, and all are in exceptional shape for their age. - $85 ea

A signed Christopher Dresser Linthorpe pottery plate circa 1880. This superb and rare Linthorpe high relief 8" English pottery plate features a naturalistic branch with leaves with a rustic white/yellow glaze on the front and no glazing on the back. It is stamped LINTHORPE Ch. Dresser HT on the back; Dresser was the designer for this factory c1879-89 and Henry Tooth was the manager prior to 1883, making the date of manufacture 1879-83. This unsigned 8-3/4" high quality basket features a ruffled-edge custard glass body with clear cranberry glass edging; the clear naturalistic glass handles resemble crossed branches (one has two spurs). A 19th c. hand painted toleware large tray. This decorative, vintage and stunning handpainted and signed large toleware display or serving tray dates to around 1860. This 24-3/8 x 19-3/4" painted metal tray features a large central basket of colourful and varied flowers; it has a floreate stepped edge and the G. J. Rudolph artist's signature. We have been unable to get any information on this artist, however the painting is superb. This all-original piece has slight and attractive alligatoring, and it is in superb original condition with no scrapes, dents, monograms, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a few small spots of gilding loss around the rim. A finely detailed 11-3/4" tall silverplated epergne stand or base c1880s. This stand features a semi-nude woman stganding on a footed base holding the dish aloft; it is stamped MONARCH SILVER CO. 592 on the bottom. The bottom of the bowl support has a satin finish, and it measures 3-5/8" across the interior, with a 9/16" deep collar for supporting the bowl. This item is in very good condition with no corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor losses to the original plating, a break where her foot was soldered to the base (see picture) and some denting under her other foot. A Davenport 2614 Old Imari 2451 style pattern cup and saucer from 1870-1887. This wonderful fully hand painted English bone china 2-5/8" tall cup and matching 5-5/8" saucer has lush gold, cobalt and orange decoration. The pattern was later copied by Royal Crown Derby as "Old Imari" or "Traditional Imari" (in production from 1902-2014). This scarce cup and saucer has the Davenport mark used from 1870-87 and it is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, damage or repairs other than a tiny 1/16" surface glaze flaw or glaze crack. The cup rings true and on the top and interior edge the flaw isn't visible through the original gilding, which was applied over the flaw at the factory.
