A Barker Bros. silver plated asparagus server cradle with tray. This super classy table server consists of the 11-1/2 x 6" pierced footed asparagus cradle or drainer and the matching 15-1/4 x 6-1/8" two-handled underplate or tray with bun feet. The cradle has a wirework frame and rest for a butter or sauce boat (not present) and the tray has the mark for Barker Brothers of Birmingham, England. This vegetable server probably dates to the 1950s and it is in excellent condition with no wear, monograms, dents, corrosion, damage or repairs other than a slight downturn on one corner of the cradle and the loss of the small sauce pourer. An Algonquin lidded sewing or yarn basket circa 1930s. This lovely Native American 10" tall and 6-1/2" across utility sewing basket has large hoop handles and the lid has a coiled wood yarn guide opening on the lid. It retains traces of the original natural dyes on the exterior while the interior of the body and lid show the bright red, orange and green of the original colours. This nice decor item is in very good condition with no major damage or repairs other than the mild dye fading and a small area of splits with a small loss to the narrow banding beside one of the handle mounts. A Herend Printemps hand painted oblong trinket or cigarette box with floral decoration and gold trim. This 6-3/4 x 3-1/2" box stands 1-1/2" tall and it is probably one of the many Printemps pieces which all have similar and slightly variant floral designs. It has the later Herend mark with a 7987 form number and a BT pattern code with a 1 or I below. It also has an impressed 7981 26 on the bottom. An Art Deco period silver plated 29" long flapper belt with an Egyptian motif circa 1920s. This vintage waist belt has five 1-1/8" chain-linked discs are set in a double chain belt. Strangely the front of the belt hook and eye buckle section on this elegant fashion accessory features a small fleur-de-lys. Finding the tomb of King Tutankhamen in the early 1920s started a fashion for anything in ancient Egyptian style. It is in excellent vintage condition with no dents, bends, losses, corrosion, repairs or damage. A German porcelain chicken figural schnapps or liquor decanter with glasses or cups and tray from the 1920s. This set is in orange, green and yellow luster and the cork-lined stopper shaped like feathers lifts off to reveal a filling hole. It is fully hand painted, the chicken is 8-1/2" long, the two-handled tray is 9-5/8" long and the schnapps shot glasses stand 1-5/8" high and fit on indented circles on the tray. The chicken has an impressed 7791 and a few other stamped numbers, some glasses have impressed numbers and a few are incised GERMANY. A Birks sterling silver column candlestick from the 1920s. This 5-5/8" tall weighted candle holder measures 2-3/16" across the base and it has a simple style. It is stamped BIRKS STERLING 4/26/ and it weighs 257.1 grams. A Heisey Octagon 1229 black glass footed fruit bowl with coralene butterflies from the 1920s. This elegant glass footed bowl features lush gold trim and hand painted gold decoration along with fine blue, pink and white coralene butterflies and lily of the valley hand painted decoration. This fruit bowl or table centerpiece bowl measures 11 x 9" (including the handles) and it is an unmarked Heisey Octagon 1229 blank. We haven't seen another example of this decoration or of this black colour and it is possible that it was a special order or line made exclusively for a major retailer at the time (we have found no other examples of the blank in black glass). This rarity is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, damage or repairs other than a bit of minor wear on the heavily gold painted handles and a small drip inside the bowl from a liquid that left a 1/4" spot of fogging on the surface of the glass. This 27" chain has two 1/16" strands with a swivel and it includes a crescent shaped 10k yellow gold (unmarked but tested) working 5/16" long slide with four vivid blue/green and orange opals. An attractive, well painted Japanese 10" x 6-3/4" lacquer over wood box c1900. This box has a richly painted scene of a bird, tree with flowers and leaves and a curved fence with mountains and a lake in the background. The thickly applied colours include textured black (tree), gold, orange and grey. This box has a black interior and the original lock (key missing) with a metal escutcheon plate; it appears to have been used as a cigar box in the past however, it could be used for many things. It is unsigned, and it is in very good condition with no losses, damage or repairs other than bruise showing wood on the lid's lower right corner, some minor lacquer losses at two of the edges and on the upper edge of the lid. Please note that the bright edge on the front of the box in the first picture is reflection of the gold decoration, which is intact.
