An 1894 South Africa 1/2 Kruger Pond 22k gold coin mining brooch pin. This unusual pin was assembled as a souvenir of the South African gold mines and these coins were frequently brought back to the U.K. after the Boer war as souvenirs. This 2-1/8" example was constructed around the same time as the mintage of the coin which is in 22k gold (9 mm, 3.99 grams). It is mounted in a braided ring with finely wrought mine picks and shovel spades with gold nuggets - the setting tests as 10k gold. It has the original c-clasp and a safety chain and it weighs a total of 7.3 grams. Although soldered into the ring the coin remains in superb condition and this scarce historical souvenir of the gold trade in South Africa is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. A 15K emerald seed pearls starburst gothic flower Aesthetic pin brooch from the 1880s. This fine 1-1/8" Victorian pin is in the Aesthetic style and it is a fancy starburst with heart-shaped gold ribbon flourishes. The central stone is a natural (tested) emerald and it is surrounded by graduated seed pearls. This 2-3/4" tie or cravat stick pin has fine wirework decoration on the 9/16" top which features a bezel-set pinkish-red rhodolite garnet stone. A Victorian 15k diamond hair brooch circa 1870. This great example of Victorian period sentimental or mourning hair jewellery is in 15k yellow gold with a centrally set genuine 12 pt. rose cut diamond and a compartment on the back containing a curl of blonde hair with a silk cord. The brooch is unmarked but tested and is guaranteed to be gold, and the diamond has been checked with a gemologist. The hair compartment on this 1-7/8" x 1-1/8" pin has the original bevelled glass, and this pin weighs 9.2 grams. A lovely mid-Victorian piece of hair jewellery in 10k yellow gold c1860-80. This 1-3/4" x 1-3/8" pendant features a fine hand engraved (unmarked but tested) gold surround with a central concave transluscent moonstone agate, on which is mounted a gold-bordered hair insert. The insert and surround are bolted to the agate with hand-cut bolts, and it retains the original finely braided black hair, bezel and glass window. This item has been converted to a pendant, with a loop attached through a small drilled hole; the hinge for the pin remains and it could easily be converted back to a brooch with the addition of a pin and catch. An impressive Regency period 15k gold long necklace with ornate slide c1830-40. This superb example measures 62" long, it has a large well-made slide with black enamel, and it is constructed of double pulley-style interlinked gold loops. The 1" across and 1/4" thick slide has an engraved L. Gordon inscription on one side; it is unmarked and unsigned but tests as 15k gold. The slide has holes where a scarab or possibly a cameo was mounted (and another piece of your choice could be mounted on it), and it weighs an impressive 59.0 grams (almost 2 ounces!). A large 10K rotating hair brooch with photo 1860-70. This opulent (typically unmarked but tested) 10k yellow gold rotating or turning hair brooch has a photo on the other side. This mid-Victorian 2-5/8 x 2-3/8" pin features a finely plaited brown and blonde hair display on one side and a hand-tinted albumin photograph of a bearded and bald gentleman on the other. Each side is under glass and the center display rotates freely on its perpendicular pivot. It has its original c-clasp and attached loop for wear as a pendant, and it weighs 27.6 grams.
