A superb sterling silver repousse locket and engraved chain dated 1884. A fine example of sumptious Victorian sterling silver craftsmanship! This 2-1/4 x 1-5/8" sterling silver photo locket has a complex design and inset rose and green gold highlights on the central flower. It has a full set of Birmingham, England silver hallmarks on the undecorated side corresponding to the year 1884, and it has an I.H maker's mark. This pendant includes the ornately hand engraved 18-1/4 x 5/8" flat-link chain necklace, which has a large springring catch. This necklace weighs 53.4 grams, and it is in very good condition with no bends, corrosion, losses or damage except for some fine denting on the plain back, tool marks from the flattening of some dents and some identifying symbols on the interior. Please not that although this locket closes firmly it shows a slight gap on the edge when closed (probably from the dent removal work). A signed Thomas Kerr Ebbutt galleon sailing ship sterling silver pin or brooch fully hallmarked for Edinburgh, Scotland 1959. A Trajan silver drachm ancient Roman coin in an 18K yellow gold pendant. This genuine ancient silver coin depicts the Roman Emperor Trajan on the reverse and it is almost exactly the coin depicted here (combine the link in your browser address bar): www.forumancientcoins.com/ (plus) catalog/roman (plus) -and-greek-coins. It is housed in a custom 18k yellow gold modern pendant setting that replicates a more ancient setting style and it is stamped 18K. A Victorian 14k diamond brooch circa 1890. This antique 1" across whirling circle pin has a free and graceful open filigree design. This round yellow gold pin shows the transition from stylized Victorian to the more flowing Art Nouveau influence. It measures 1 inch across, and in the centre is a claw set clear white genuine European antique cut diamond, measuring 3.5 mm. across (approximately 20 pt. by gauge) - it is is VS2 diamond of I-J colour. It has the original gate-latch safety clasp, where it is stamped 14 K. It is in very good condition, with all of the claw work in excellent condition, and the diamond in excellent condition also, but please note there appears to be an old professional repair visible only on the back of the brooch. Victorian 14k diamond & opals pendant from 1890-1900. This yellow gold pendant has a central diamond and natural opals surrounding it. The stones are all claw-set, and the old European brilliant cut diamond is 30 points, with I-1 clarity and G-H colour. The opals are genuine natural opals, 3.5-3.4 mm. in size and all have excellent blue, green and red colours (quite intense in real life but somewhat muted in our pictures). This pendant was constructed from a Victorian earring, after the mate was lost. Included is an independent gemmological appraisal in the amount of $1400 Canadian. A Victorian 14k gold synthetic sapphire seed pearls leaf pin brooch from 1880-1890. This attractive2-1/8 x 5/8" brooch is of hollow construction and it has a finely tooled pinioned leaf with seed pearls and a claw-set synthetic sapphire. Fine gem stones like emeralds or sapphires were very expensive in the 19th and early 20th century, so synthetic gems were often used even in gold jewelry. The pearls are natural with the expected surface irregularities and this pin is unmarked but tests as 14k gold. This great example of Victorian period sentimental or mourning hair jewellery is in 15k yellow gold with a centrally set genuine 12 pt. rose cut diamond and a compartment on the back containing a curl of blonde hair with a silk cord.
