A Gorham Art Nouveau sterling silver swing-handle basket circa 1900. This lovely American basket measures 6-3/8" x 4-7/8" across the basket and it stands 7-1/2" to the top of the handle. It has a sinuous Art Nouveau floral design and it is stamped STERLING GORHAM MFG CO 1984/6 on the bottom. A Georgian sterling silver large footed master salt dish dated 1817. This simply splendid high quality English Georgian silver open salt dish is fully hallmarked for London 1817. This 3-5/8" diameter and 1-7/8" high bowl has fine high relief and rather unusual rim decoration of a lion head alternating with a shell, surrounded by flowers, with ornate floral feet. It retains the original gilding on the bowl as well. It is stamped with the maker's mark for William Elliot or William Eaton of London. It weighs an impressive 162.6 grams. It has a small lion rampant family crest engraving on one shoulder (not shown). One of the largest and most unusual Georgian silver open salts we have seen. This antique pair of 2-1/2" diameter salt stands or dips are 1-1/2" high, and they have three hoof design feet. The liners are clear blown glass with a polished pontil, and these salt dips have a maker's mark for Nathaniel Appleton and Anne Smith (London, est. 1771). An attractive c1900 silverplated cylindrical silverplated holder and matching etched glass vase by Meriden. An Edwardian carved mother of pearl silver plated bread fork from the 1900-1910 era. This ornate and out of the ordinary example of Victorian and Edwardian table serving pieces measures 8-5/8" long and it has the shape and three tines found on bread serving forks of this period (however it can be used for whatever purpose you wish). It has fancy high relief finials with acanthus leaves and flowers, a stepped finial and fancy modelling of the silver plate links. It is set apart by the hand carved mother-of-pearl handle which has been carved in the form of a tree trunk with bumps from branches. A finely detailed 11-3/4" tall silverplated epergne stand or base c1880s. This stand features a semi-nude woman stganding on a footed base holding the dish aloft; it is stamped MONARCH SILVER CO. 592 on the bottom. The bottom of the bowl support has a satin finish, and it measures 3-5/8" across the interior, with a 9/16" deep collar for supporting the bowl. This item is in very good condition with no corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor losses to the original plating, a break where her foot was soldered to the base (see picture) and some denting under her other foot. This well made bowl has a nice floral design and it stands 5-1/8" high; it measures 8-7/8" across and it has the ENERET mark (for registered design), the Danish silverplate mark and an unidentified DFA makers mark. A Chinese export silver 3 piece cruet set with spiders and lizards. This truly unusual and well-made three piece cruet set is in high grade Chinese export silver. Dating to the late 19th-early 20th century, this condiment set has the 2-1/2" high pepper shaker, the 1-1/4" high open salt dish and the 2-1/4" high lidded mustard pot with handle. What makes this set exceptional is the presence of very high relief applied spiders being chased by lizards. The mouths are open on the lizards and the detail is stunning; each piece is on three insect-like legs. Each piece has Chinese silver marks, not a mark I have seen before - but given the unusual use of lizards and bugs, this piece had the look of work by Chinese silversmith Luen Hing. I have not seen this mark attached to any of his known work, so this is merely a speculative opinion. The 3 pc set weighs a total of 115.9 grams, and there is no liner present in the salt dish. This set is in excellent vintage condition with no bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some indenting to two feet on each of the interiors of the mustard and salt pieces, and slight denting on bugs.
