A finely detailed 11-3/4" tall silverplated epergne stand or base c1880s. This stand features a semi-nude woman stganding on a footed base holding the dish aloft; it is stamped MONARCH SILVER CO. 592 on the bottom. The bottom of the bowl support has a satin finish, and it measures 3-5/8" across the interior, with a 9/16" deep collar for supporting the bowl. This item is in very good condition with no corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor losses to the original plating, a break where her foot was soldered to the base (see picture) and some denting under her other foot. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. A Georgian sterling silver large footed master salt dish dated 1817. This simply splendid high quality English Georgian silver open salt dish is fully hallmarked for London 1817. This 3-5/8" diameter and 1-7/8" high bowl has fine high relief and rather unusual rim decoration of a lion head alternating with a shell, surrounded by flowers, with ornate floral feet. It retains the original gilding on the bowl as well. It is stamped with the maker's mark for William Elliot or William Eaton of London. It weighs an impressive 162.6 grams. It has a small lion rampant family crest engraving on one shoulder (not shown). One of the largest and most unusual Georgian silver open salts we have seen. A William IV sterling silver vinaigrette made by Thomas Shaw of Birmingham, England 1833. Vinaigrettes were used in the 18th and 19th century as a personal hygiene accessory for the moneyed class and were used to carry pleasant oils and attars or vinegars which were absorbed into cloth pads under the pierced gilded grillwork and sniffed so as to cover up the smells of everyday life (when there were open sewers and waste and garbage were tossed from windows onto the sidewalks and streets below). This 1-7/16 x 1" example has fine hand engraving and it retains the fine openwork grill and gilding. It has the hallmarks and maker's mark for Thomas Shaw of Birmingham, England and the date letter for 1833. It has a gothic M monogram on the top and it is in very good condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some signs of slightly abrasive polishing in the past.

This is a genuine English sterling silver William IV teapot fully hallmarked for London, England 1837. This table serving piece measures 11-1/4" from spout to handle and it has a wonderful bolt-mounted floral finial. It has fine leaf and flower repousse decoration throughout and it stands on four fancy feet. It has the maker's mark for the respected English silversmith firm of Edward, Edward Jr., John and W. Barnard and it weighs an impressive 810 grams. This excellent survivor is in very good condition with no bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a dent on one panel at the shoulder and some looseness at the insulating spacer at the top of the handle from an old repair (the handle wobbles a little). This antique pair of 2-1/2" diameter salt stands or dips are 1-1/2" high, and they have three hoof design feet. The liners are clear blown glass with a polished pontil, and these salt dips have a maker's mark for Nathaniel Appleton and Anne Smith (London, est. 1771). This antique pair of 2-1/2" diameter salt stands or dips are 1-1/2" high, and they have three hoof design feet. These salt dips have a maker's mark for George Wickes (later to become Garrard) and they have an original RSH monogram on the bottoms.
