A superb sterling silver repousse locket and engraved chain dated 1884. A fine example of sumptious Victorian sterling silver craftsmanship! This 2-1/4 x 1-5/8" sterling silver photo locket has a complex design and inset rose and green gold highlights on the central flower. It has a full set of Birmingham, England silver hallmarks on the undecorated side corresponding to the year 1884, and it has an I.H maker's mark. This pendant includes the ornately hand engraved 18-1/4 x 5/8" flat-link chain necklace, which has a large springring catch. This necklace weighs 53.4 grams, and it is in very good condition with no bends, corrosion, losses or damage except for some fine denting on the plain back, tool marks from the flattening of some dents and some identifying symbols on the interior. A Victorian period 15k yellow gold, enamel & natural pearl large Victorian mourning pin c1860 with an insert with hair. This (unmarked but tested and guaranteed) 15K yellow gold brooch consists of a raised fancy scrollwork front with black enamel, a circle of high quality and lustre natural pearls surrounding a central crystal enclosed compartment with a swirl of medium-brown hair, and a polished mother of pearl backing under the nicely arranged lock of hair. It measures 2-1/2" x 2", it closes with a c-clasp with its original extended pin, and it has a loop for hanging as a pendant. The unusual mother of pearl backing has wonderful pink and green fire, and this pin weighs a substantial 37.4 grams. A quality 14k rhodolite garnet and enamel stickpin circa 1860. This large, heavy and superb 19th century stickpin is in 14k yellow gold, with a 40 point purplish pink rhodolite garnet and enamelling. The garnet is claw-set in an incised star and surrounded by an enamelled six-pointed star in cobalt enamel (more purple than in our photographs). The twisted-shaft pin measures 2-3/4" long and the head of this stickpin measures 5/8" across. It weighs an impressive 6.4 grams and the stone has been checked by a gemmologist. A superb quality 4-3/8" across Sorrento ware wood inlay trinket or jewellery box from the mid to late 19th century. This box stands 1-3/4" high and it has wonderful colour and workmanship. The sides feature red banding and a Greek key design in green, yellow and black with a brown ground. The top is the highlight, with literally thousands of individually placed fruitwood tesserae in a needlepoint-style flower and leaf panel decoration - the effect isquite similar to a carpet; the colours are bright and unfaded and the fine workmanship is remarkable. The interior of the box is olive wood. The condition of this unsigned, brass-hinged box is very good indeed for a box of its age and type, with only some very small barely noticeable losses and craquelure to the finish. There is a small loss along the edge of one corner panel, some minor lid warping to the hinge and front edge leaving small gaps, a thin crack and small corner losses to one lower red band on one side panel and the possible replacement of one half of one hinge with a non-brass one.
