A nicely painted and peaceful 1920s-30s watercolour of a winter scene with a deer. This 5-1/2" x 3-5/8" sight size picture is in the original gilt embossed wood 11 x 9" frame with a gold mat. It is unsigned but looks like our other painting by L. Livingston (our stock number 5727), and it is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, fading, tears, staining, foxing, losses, damage or repairs. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use. A vintage, original dated hand tinted copper plate stipple engraving by Francesco Bartolozzi dated 1786. This print measures 11" x 8-3/8" (imprint size) and it is in a later (c.1900) painted and gilt 14-3/4" x 11-3/4" frame. It has the following inscriptions: "Painted by Sir Joshua Reynolds", London. Published Dec 12th 1786 by E.M. Diemar, No. 114 Strand, and "Engraved by F. Bartolozzi, R.A. Engraver to His Majesty. The image is titled The Honourable Miss Bingham" and it has flesh and blue hand tinting. This item is in excellent original condition with no tears, foxing, image staining, fading, losses, damage or repairs other than some uniform paper darkening/acidosis and a water stain at the bottom 5/8" away from the paper border impression. An American Federal period portrait miniature of a lady circa 1800. This well painted antique miniature painting on ivory measures 2-5/8" x 2-1/8" is under a glass cover. The portrait features a woman with draped headdress and white dress. She is extremely well painted, and the case is leather over wood with a brass clasp. The cases were sometimes replaced over the years, so we can't that it is original to the portrait, although it may be. It is unsigned and the artist and subject are unidentified, with no provenance available. This item is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, damage or repairs other than some loss to the silk interior liner and some minor wear and spotting on the leather. Alphonse Legros Print Collectors Club Book #109/500. This scarce art book from the Art Deco era was published by the Print Collectors' Club of London, England in 1934. This 10 x 7-1/2" paper and cloth bound book has 24 pages plus 17 black and white illustrations following on separate pages; it is titled THE ETCHINGS, DRYPOINTS AND LITHOGRAPHS OF ALPHONSE LEGROS 1837-1911, and it is one of a series of limited edition art books published in this era. This book is hand numbered 109 out of 350 copies (300 for the Print Club members). It is in excellent condition with the following notes on condition: minor corner bumps, slight surface scrapes front and back cover (only visible with reflected light), foxing on inside front cover and facing leaf, same on final leaves and back inside cover. A 19thC V. Loria Italy signed fishing boat watercolour. This Vincenzo Loria (Salerno, Italy 1849-1939) 23" x 12" unframed watercolour on (cardstock) board depicts a Neapolitan fishing boat on the water. An excellent painting for its play of light and detail, it is signed V. LORIA NAPOLI in the lower left corner. This painting does have some condition issues - a stain in the sky on the upper left, a few tatters on the extreme edges, some browning and minor fading, and some woodworm holes on the lower right in the water, visible more on the back. It also has a small assortment of old wormhole tracks on the cardstock on the back. The picture measures 10-1/14" x 13-1/2" and it is in a gilt gesso 16-3/4 x 14" period frame. The print has various notations, including: FROM THE AMERICAN AGRICULTURIST, BF REINHART 1870, HENCKL & SCOTT (illegible), ENTERED ACCORDING TO ACT OF CONGRESS A.D. 1872 BY ORANGE, JUDD & CO. IN THE OFFICE OF THE LIBRARIAN OF CON(obscured). It has a tissue backing, and it is in very good vintage condition with no scrapes, foxing, losses, damage or repairs other than a lift and tear at the signature and some spotting and wear to the gilding on the frame.
