A charming vintage miniature pair of folk art paintings c1950s. This pair of miniature scenic view oil paintings depicts scenes the Gravenhurst, Ontario area. These 4-3/4" x 3-3/4" sight size paintings come in white painted 6" x 5" frames, and each was painted by May House. One shows "Muskoka Bay from Green Acres, W. Gravenhurst" and the other "Montgomery's Point + Gateway Hotel, from W. Gravenhurst". The kosher hotel (1949-1961) catered to Jewish vacationers from Toronto. This lovely and historical pair of paintings is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, soiling, losses, damage or repairs. A George S. Culley watercolour painting of the Credit River, Ontario, Canada. This unframed 15-3/4" x 11-1/4" watercolour on paper is by George S. Culley (Canadian, 1905-1988) depicting a sluice gate on the Credit River in Melville, Ontario, Canada. This painting is in excellent original condition with no foxing, staining, bends, tears, losses, damage or repairs. It is signed G.S. Culley '64 on the lower right, and it is inscribed in ink in the artist's hand on the back "Sluice Gate Credit River Melville Ont.". Please note that there are some holes around the unpainted edge from the thumbtacks used by the artist to mount the paper to the easel, and pencil outlines of the image are clearly visible. A Fumio Tamura 1969 Nokemono framed litho print 2/7. This evocative semi-erotic colour lithograph print entitled "Nokemono" (translated from Japanese - outcast) was produced in 1969 by Fumio Tamura (Japan, 1941-). Fumio Tamura was born in the Nagano prefecture, and he graduated from Tokyo Art College in 1968, so this 1969 litho dates from early in his career. It is in a metal frame, and it measures 24-1/2" x 21", with an image size of 18" x 14-1/2". It is a very small edition issue, inscribed in pencil 2/7, with the title in Japanese and in English NOKEMONO and it has the artist's signature F. Tamura '69. It retains the original Toronto gallery sticker on the back, and this print is is in excellent condition with no foxing, tears, staining, fading, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. G. Blair Laing Memories Of An Art Dealer 2 vol. set. This complete and mint two volume set is in its original slipcovers and it was published by McClelland and Stewart, Toronto 1982. Each volume measures 10-3/4 x 7-3/4" in their limited clothbound slip cases. Volume 1 has 65 tipped-in colour plates and 264 pages; it is near mint inside and out with only the faintest traces of rubbing on the edges of the book and case and not enough to drop it from a solid MINT rating. Volume 2 has 77 plates and 213 pages and it is near mint with very slight rubs and some minor dents on the back of the slipcase. A superb and scarce set in superb condition. This set is in excellent condition as described above.
