A Victorian gold filled photo locket on a fancy rolled gold plate chain necklace from the 1870s 1880s. This necklace is unusual in that it is gold filled and not the typical sterling silver and it features yellow gold plate and a strip of fancy bordered rose gold plate setting off the design. It has a subtle matte finish and the rose gold is glossy and it opens up to show two (very faded) baby photos which both have annotations with names and the date 1900 as well as the paper lining, original glass windows and both bezels. The locket measures 2-1/4 x 1" (including bale) and it comes on a fancy 19" long and 5/16" wide rolled gold plated chain which has a springring clasp and a safety chain. The back of the locket is undecorated and this beauty is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs other than a small shallow dent on the back of the locket. A Victorian English silver plated biscuit caddy or barrel with a carved finial from the 1880s. This hand engraved silver plated Victorian English piece stands 7-3/8" tall to the top of the hand-carved bone finial, and the attached base measures 7-7/8" x 6". A Victorian Edwardian green tourmaline, red spinel and pearls gold plated pendant on chain necklace circa 1890-1900. This 7/8 x 3/4" (including bale) pendant features nine neatly arrayed segments of four stones each - 4 of green tourmalines, 5 of natural small pearls with vivid silver lustre and 5 red spinels in the centers of each pearl section. Sections are divided with gold strips and the two halves of this locket-style pendant are soldered together (it doesn't open). A Victorian child's ironstone dinner set circa 1860 with 35 pieces. This rare and early 35 piece set is one of the most complete we have encountered, and it has many serving pieces; it has a black transfer design. It was made by Livesley Powell & Co. of Hanley, Staffordshire, England (1851-1866), with the BEST LP & Co. maker's mark found on three of the rim soup bowls only. This set includes: two 4" across the spout and handle gravy or sauce boats, six 4-1/2" dinner plates, six 3-5/8" salad plates, four 3" bread and butter plates, six 4-1/2" rim soup bowls, 4-3/8 x 3-1/2" oval open vegetable bowl (some minor browning), a set of three platters (5-5/8 x 4-1/2", 5-3/8 x 4-1/4", 4-7/8 x 3-7/8" (tight hairline resembling craze line showing on both sides)), 4-1/4" high and 4-1/2" across the handles covered round footed entree dish, a second footed entree dish without the lid, and, amazingly, the soup tureen complete with ladle, lid, bowl and underplate! The soup tureen itself consists of the 5-7/8 x 5-1/4" fitted underplate (underglaze "PRINTED" stamp on bottom), 4" across lid with ladle opening, 4-1/2" ladle with transfer design, 5-5/8" across the handles footed base (minor browning). The tureen stands 6-1/4" high, and this amazing set is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs unless stated; please note that all pieces have fine overall crazing and a few have the expected very minor firing flaws found in items of this vintage. A Victorian bisque double shell young boy figural mantle vase from the late 1800s. This 5-1/4" tall figurine is fully hand painted and of top quality - quite like the fineness of Schafer & Vater. A Victorian Aesthetic brass dress hem lifter circa 1880. This unusual Victorian design object was made to hold up the hem of a lady's dress. It sounds a little risque, but sometimes you preferred those long skirts not to be near water or mud, as is only sensible. In the Aesthetic design popular at the time (and swans certainly were popular), this solid brass clothing accessory clamps the bottom of the lady's dress with the tongs, which are locked in place by the sliding shield-shaped housing. A cord looped through a (now missing) brass loop at the top of the slider is pulled to raise the hem of the floor-length skirt. It has the word PATENT on the tongs, and this unusual item is in excellent original condition with no dents, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than the missing loop and some minor bending of the shield edges. This great example of Victorian period sentimental or mourning hair jewellery is in 15k yellow gold with a centrally set genuine 12 pt. rose cut diamond and a compartment on the back containing a curl of blonde hair with a silk cord. The brooch is unmarked but tested and is guaranteed to be gold, and the diamond has been checked with a gemologist. The hair compartment on this 1-7/8" x 1-1/8" pin has the original bevelled glass, and this pin weighs 9.2 grams. The original c-clasp is still present, and it has a small loop for a safety chain (not present).
