A great example of late Victorian Art Nouveau tableware. This is a fine satin-finish green gradient-style serving or candy dish on its original Art Nouveau silverplated stand. The 5" across dish stands 3" high, it has a nice medium green colour and satin finished panels flanked by gloss-finished ribs. The 5-1/2" English-made stand (marked EPNS) stands on bun feet, has has screw and bolt mounts and high relief flowers and leaves on the base; the handles are in the form of sinuous tendrils, a favourite Art Nouveau motif. This item is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor surface scratches on the frosted surface from contact with the stand (minor). A fine quality, fully hand painted English bone china covered oval entree dish dated 1907. Made by Royal Crown Derby in the 6452 pattern, this 11-1/4" x 7-3/4" serving dish has a cobalt band with matte gold painting including a grape vine motif and white enamel jewelling. It is marked on both pieces with the orange ROYAL CROWN DERBY ENGLAND 6452 mark, the M year letter (for 1907) and an underglaze stamped DERBY 6-07. A hand painted Limoges large roses centerpiece or fruit bowl dated 1903. This wonderfully handpainted 10-3/8" across bowl stands 4" high and 8-1/2" deep, it has a handle on one side, and the painting is of very high quality for a painted blank. Typical in this era, china painting was very popular and some very talented pieces were produced by home amateurs. This example has lovely red roses and green foliage, a pink interior ground with a pair of roses, and gold trim (which required a refiring to set after the firing on of the painting). It is stamped with HAVILAND FRANCE (the maker of the blank) and 2. (the item or mold number). An Edwardian carved mother of pearl silver plated bread fork from the 1900-1910 era. This ornate and out of the ordinary example of Victorian and Edwardian table serving pieces measures 8-5/8" long and it has the shape and three tines found on bread serving forks of this period (however it can be used for whatever purpose you wish). It has fancy high relief finials with acanthus leaves and flowers, a stepped finial and fancy modelling of the silver plate links. An Arts & Crafts patinated bronze ink well from the 1900 to 1910 era. This Edwardian writing or desk accessory features green patination with a fine A&C gold stencil on the front above the pen rest. A copy of A Wreath of Canadian Song by C.M. Whyte-Edgar dated 1910. This is an original boxed presentation copy with a kid leather soft cover and the original presentation cardboard box with the title sticker. Now reprinted, this is an original with gold stamped embossing on the front and spine. It has the tissue-protected plates and is fully gilded on all edges. It was published by William Briggs of Toronto. Condition is excellent on this 8 x 5-3/8" book and it retains its original page ribbon placemarker. There are no folds, tears, foxing or other damage and there is a short ballpoint pen mark on the front cover which has overhanging edges beyond the pages. The box is rough with the lid having some staining, 3 corner splits and one flap split 2/5 of the way down. The box bottom has edge wear and some tight splitting. We haven't found another copy in this format (all originals so far have a leather wrapped hard cover). A Swiss sterling silver engraved hunter case pocket watch with a chain with a Routier Quebec retailer signature. This size 13 ligne or size 0 watch has fancy tooling on its full hunter sterling silver case which has an MQ '04 monogram on one side. The front and back cases and dust cover all have Swiss 935 sterling silver marks including the bear mark and the works resemble a barred Swiss movement from around the 1900 era. The porcelain dial with a single sunk second hand dial is signed A.C. ROUTIER QUEBEC (Quebec City, the retailer). This watch comes with an unmarked but tested sterling silver 24" double strand herringbone chain with a swivel. The crown is brass and this watch appears to be overwound and is not working.
