A Jazz Age Art Deco standing flatware box or chest from the 1930s. This unusual beauty has a silver and red paper Deco design over wood construction and it has a fitted interior. It measures 14-1/2" wide, 5" deep and it stands 11-3/4" tall when resting on its base. It has a silver plated clasp on the hinged lid which opens to reveal the plush-lined fitted interior which has a WM. A. ROGERS silk banner. Very few of these boxes were meant to stand upright, and this one looks great in your deco dining room. It is in very good condition with no cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than some expected wear to the base corners and edges and a couple of minor scuffs or scrapes. The foiled paper base also has some rubbing and a minor paper loss. A JG Graves Sheffield sterling silver swing-out key pocket watch 1902. This English sterling silver key wind cased pocket watch is by JG Graves of Sheffield, England. Graves (1866-1945) was a watchmaker, entepreneur and benefactor, and this watch is hallmarked for Chester 1902, with the swing-out case having the Graves maker's mark. The watch is 2" across and the works measure 1-9/16" across the plate. They are inscribed J.G. GRAVES SHEFFIELD REVERSING PINION No688375. The single sunk dial has gold toned hands and it has THE "EXPRESS" ENGLISH LEVER in red and a black script G.S. GRAVES SHEFFIELD (indicating a late issue). It has an engine turned and engraved design on the back of the case and the back dust cover is unmarked. It is key wind and adjustment is by a nut at the pivot of the hands on the dial. This watch includes a later plastic base and dome cover, and it is in good condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs - the case, porcelain dial and works all appear intact, clean and undamaged however this watch doesn't run and the crystal has some minor abrasions. An attractive, well painted Japanese 10" x 6-3/4" lacquer over wood box c1900. This box has a richly painted scene of a bird, tree with flowers and leaves and a curved fence with mountains and a lake in the background. The thickly applied colours include textured black (tree), gold, orange and grey. This box has a black interior and the original lock (key missing) with a metal escutcheon plate; it appears to have been used as a cigar box in the past however, it could be used for many things. It is unsigned, and it is in very good condition with no losses, damage or repairs other than bruise showing wood on the lid's lower right corner, some minor lacquer losses at two of the edges and on the upper edge of the lid. Please note that the bright edge on the front of the box in the first picture is reflection of the gold decoration, which is intact. A Maling Peony 6504A large 10-7/8" centerpiece bowl from the 1930s. This English pottery bowl is fully hand painted in cobalt blue with red, purple, yellow and blue peony flowers with green leaves and brown branches. It has the Maling stamp in use from 1934~1940 and it stands 2-3/8" high on its three feet. A great looking addition to your table or collection. A Moorcroft art pottery 5-7/8" vase in the Anemone pattern in the flambe line. This vase was produced 1947-53 period. This vintage example is stamped MOORCROFT MADE IN ENGLAND with Walter Moorcroft's monogram underglaze signature and cypher. Walter Moorcroft worked at Moorcroft from a young age, and took over after the death of William Moorcoft in 1945. Moorcroft pottery constantly explored different glazes even with their more popular patterns - the flambe is an interesting brown-orange colour. Pre 1960s Moorcroft still shows the fine quality hand painting with subtle shading in the leaves and flowers, and is understandably more popular with Moorcroft collectors. Flambe pieces are much less common than the blue or green background Moorcroft. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than some overall crazing. This vase is vintge and signs of age and use must be expected.

The handles have hand-made floral decoration and the lifter end has roses, and would also work nicely for serving asparagus. This pretty serving piece is stamped 800 with what looks like a chevron shape maker's mark (unidentified), and it weighs 79.6 grams. An ornate good quality silver plate 4 PC tea set and matching large tray. This set consists of the 5-3/4" (lip to handle) cream jug, the 8" handle to handle covered sugar bowl, the 9-1/8" high coffee pot with wood handle, and the 12" wood handle to spout teapot, together with the engraved 27-1/4" x 16" duck footed serving tray. The tea set has gadroon edges and the pieces are stamped SILVERPLATE ON COPPER SHEFFIELD REPRODUCTION with the International mark and the 1028 pattern number. The tray is stamped with OLD ENGLISH REPRODUCTION and an L BROS. maker's mark. It has a gadroon edge / similar design. A pair of gilt brass roses metalwork table lamps with marble bases from the 1930s 1940s. These beauties stand 25-3/4" to the tops of the original finials and the bases are genuine black veined marble. They may actually date from the 1920s and they have been rewired and resocketed. The pleated silk shades shown are later (and were on the lamps when we acquired them) and they can be included if you wish (they have minor staining/spotting) but that will raise the shipping costs substantially. The antiqued patination is intact but attractively mellowed and the metalwork could use a good, gentle cleaning. A pair of Lucknow solid silver sweetmeat or bonbon bowls from the Indian Raj period circa 1880 1890. These superbly detailed antique high grade silver 4-7/8" x 4" bowls have a graceful fluted rim. They feature gilt interiors and fine hammered wildlife scenes around the exterior depicting panthers, elephants, birds, dogs, rabbits and others, all with a backdrop of palm trees and tropical foliage. The design is a classic Lucknow silver design of this period, and interior gilding was seen more commonly then also. They have a large hand-tooled peacock figure on the bottom of each bowl, (which is most likely the silversmith's mark), and they test as very high grade silver. These bowls weigh 174 grams in total, and they are in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a tiny notch on the upper edge of one bowl from the testing of the silver content. A pair of (typically) unmarked Majestic Japanned wood and brass table lamps c1950s. The black painted wood includes the 7 x 4-1/2" base with a crescent moon mounted on the brass upright with a brass ball separating it from the base. They stand 17-1/2" tall including the 12 x 6-1/2" shades, which are of fiberglass with plastic stringing on the borders and a wire cage for mounting on the lightbulb. They have their original cords with Leviton sockets with inspection stickers, and both lamps work. This pair of fine Retro decorative lamps is in excellent condition with no cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor loss to the gold-plated finish over the brass and one small touched-up chip on the tip of one crescent. The rest of the black paint is intact with only tiny flakes and one scratch with the paint mostly intact. They have their original detachable bobeches, and both have the Sheffield 1931 hallmarks. A pair of Roden (Birks) sterling 1930s napkin rings. Roden (of Toronto) was bought out by Birks in 1928. These 5/8" wide sterling napkin ring measures 1-3/4" across and they have the Roden maker's mark and STERLING. Birks bought all Roden's inventory and parts and molds, and the Roden mark can be seen on some Birks silver items until several years after. They weighs 13.0 grams and they are in excellent vintage condition with no breaks, bends, corrosion, losses, or repairs. One has a very shallow Janie monogram and the other is blank.
