A fine mint-in-box condition Canada 1989 so-called Double Dollar Prestige Proof set complete with plastic box, book-style case and certificate of contents. The 6-1/2 x 4-3/4" box is of black plastic, the frosted proof coins are held in a sealed frosted plastic case with clear coin cutouts for viewing (front and back) which is mounted book-style in a black leatherette case with a satin liner which holds the specifications information sheet. The dollar is the Mackenzie River Exploration issue (in 50% silver, light circumferential toning). All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted. A Carling Black Label Beer Light Up Bar Clock Sign 1973. This impressive bar advertising sign is made of brown wood-grain style plastic and it has an electric clock and internal light. The clear plastic front cover has a printed card stock graphic insert and the case has an applied gold plated Carling shield. It has the original on/off pull chain and light ballast plug and it has a sticker on the back with details and a FEB 22 '73 stamped manufacturing date. This American made bar sign is the BLACK LABEL ILLUMINATED 25" PRESTIGE CLOCK Item No. 1930 PB. It measures 25-1/2 x 17-3/4" and it is in excellent working condition with no chips, cracks, scrapes, fading, damage or repairs. All condition issues are noted. Before Rolling Stone turned into an irrelevant pile of commercial crap over 40 years ago, it was at the vanguard of the "Underground Press" - a crude newspaper devoted to the counterculture, drugs, music, uncensored political and sexual expression and all things Hippie. Fortunately, being Canadian, the Georgia Straight of Vancouver carried on the anarchistic torch for a few years after RS gave it up, giving us a ribald and unfettered underground newspaper sold in the British Columbia area. From r-rated underground comics (the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers (FFFB) by Gilbert Shelton, Fat Freddie's Cat, and others) to interviews with counterculture icons, this paper is a window on a long-gone world of late 1960s ideals (it started around the same time as RS in 1967). This is a selection of 14 issues from 1973-74 and although not a contiguous run it gives a great look at the era. Included are the following issues:

Goebel Hummel Virgin Mary Praying Madonna 46/0 orange-peach robed figurine from the 1960s. This pastel coloured 10-3/8" tall figure has a gloss and matte finish and pastel yellow, orange, blue and brown colours. It is incised M.J. Hummel on the base plinth and it has the blue "stylized bee" mark in use from 1960-72. A Paul Duval Group of Seven Drawings art book. This 11-7/8" x 10-1/4" art reference book by Paul Duval entitled GROUP OF SEVEN DRAWINGS was published by Burns and MacEachern, Toronto in 1965. This first edition has black and white illustrations with capsule biographies towards the back. It has the original dust cover, and this book is in excellent conditon with the dust cover taped under plastic. This heavy and solidly made Legacy silver plate on copper 11 x 8" dish features a removable handle. A gilt metal and screen-printed plastic pub advertising sign for Whitbread Tankard beer circa 1950s 1960. A vintage 1960s Rosko Japan Hy-Que Speak No Evil mechanical steel and plastic battery operated monkey toy. This famous 17" tall toy has brightly lithographed metal parts and soft rubber hands and head with fur. The clothing is intact and in excellent shape as is the metalwork (it rates a visual C9 to us). The mechanism doesn't work, however the face does light up. The battery tray is clean with only minor stains and it is free of corrosion. This toy is being sold in as described condition without warranty - we haven't tried to repair the mechanism. This item is in as is as described condition. A Paladin Have Gun Will Travel gun belt with 2 guns. A must for the true television cowboy fan! This is a scarce 30" black leather gun belt with two holsters from the television series Have Gun Will Travel (from the late 1950s-early 1960s). It has the Paladin Knight chessman logo, applied plastic bullet holders with 4 out the six original red bullets, and the original silverplated buckle. Also included are the two original decorated metal cap guns with embossed plastic black handles with flip-up LOAD HERE compartments for rolls of caps. A scarce first printing of Totem Poles Volume 1 and 2 by Marius Barbeau. This set on Canadian West Coast totem poles has 880 pages over the two volumes, both with maps, notes and multitudes of black and white photographs. They were published by the National Museum of Canada and Edmond Clautier in 1950. These 9-3/4" x 6-1/2" softcover books include an Errata sheet, and this set is in fairly good condition with no staining, tears, folds, foxing, missing pages or damage, other than some minor spine creases, some slight edge rubs on the spine, and a couple of minor tears to the spine tops (see images). This Art Deco vintage 3-3/4" x 3-1/8" smoking accessory features deep and medium brown mottled enamel and the fittings are gold plated. An Art Deco enamel and black celluloid and sterling silver cigarette holder from the 1930s. This 4-1/8" example has a spring-loaded internal push for ejection of the (unfiltered) cigarette and it has a fine white with pink roses and green leaves enamel with a sterling cap and band. It retains the original paper-wrapped fitted lined hinged case.
