A Martin Hall Victorian English silver plated meat dome. This 12-1/4" x 9-3/8" meat dome or cover was made by Martin, Hall & Co. of Sheffield, England (1854-1934). This table serving piece features a bolted and pegged finial with a wing nut and it stands 8-3/4" high. It is stamped 1127 EPNS with the maker's mark, and it is in excellent condition with no monograms, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than one small penpoint protruberant dent and a nearby shallow penpoint dent. The plating is completely intact and this dome is in superb condition. A 19thC Bohemian red glass and enamel vase. This late Victorian era red or ruby flash 7-1/4" tall lobed vase features clear panels with acid etching with hand applied blue, orange and green enamel painting as well as traces of gold trim on the top edge. It has a rough unfinished pontil and this decorative vase is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, damage or repairs other than some wear to the upper gold trim band. An antique Dutch silver hand made miniature fireplace from 1900 or earlier. This unusual and well-made decorative miniature stands 1-5/8" high and 1-7/8" wide. It has a tooled gallery around the back plate, an integrated fire fender and floor surround and a space in the bed of the fireplace possibly for a wood cradle or grate (not present). It has an array of silver stamps including the Dutch sword mark and others - some may be import and maker's marks or resale marks (Dutch items were required to be marked each time an item is sold). This hand wrought decorative miniature weighs 19.6 grams and it is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs however there are two solder bumps at the top of the back plate where it may have had hoops attached for wear as a pendant at some time in the past. An ornate Victorian SP ink stand with ink pot, drawer and pen rest 1860. A wonderful mid-Victorian silverplated ink stand with a Feb. 20, 1860 registration date. This 11-1/2 x 7-1/2" stand features a pottery inkwell in a domed lidded brass holder mounted on the deck, which also has a brass pen rest. Besides the ornate hand-engraving, it also has a copper military button mounted with a screw and bolt. The shoulders have a high relief vine and berries design and it has scroll feet. It has a sliding drawer with pen and paper compartments as well, and it has the British registration key and the PP&S maker's mark for Padley, Parking & Standforth of Sheffield, England (operating from 1855-80). This item is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a dent in the edge of the platform behind the ink dome. A 7-1/2" German or Austrian porcelain hand painted figurine of a bugler. This mid to late 19th century figure features fine hand painting with gold, orange, blue, tan and realistic flesh colours; it is in a style similar to Heubach figures, but many European factories of this period were producing such figures, and it has a shiny rather than matte glaze. It is unsigned except for a painted XX, and it is in very good original condition with no chips, crazing, losses, damage or repairs other than a tight crack on the base at the back and some gilt wear. There are original glazed firing cracks at the elbows, right front leg and hat at the thigh, but these are original to the manufacture of the piece, not later damage. A cranberry thumbprint pattern glass pickle cruet on a silver plated stand from the 1890 era. The ornate stand is 11-3/4" tall and it has a nice decorative design as does the original silver plated lid; it is stamped with the Standard Silver Co. mark, which was in business in Toronto before 1893 (they later merged with International in 1913). The cranberry glass liner/jar has a thumbprint pattern and it fits snugly in the rim on the base. Also included is a fine, contemporary pair of pickle tongs. This item is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some tiny fleabites on the rim of the liner (very slight) and some minor loss to the plating on the stand. A pair of German 800 silver viande serving forks in the original box. This elegant and high quality pair of 800 silver German 8" viande or meat serving forks are in their original fitted box and they date to the 1900 1910 era. These forks are stamped 800 with the crown and eagle mark (Frankfurt, pre-1888), most likely produced by Bruckmann and Sohne (1805-1973). The forks are an interesting combiation of elegant Neoclassic revival design paired with the elements of Jugendstil - note the graceful and simple fork shape and crisp design to the ends of the handle. The 9" x 3-1/2" box is a tan coloured watered silk with a Greek key border and bronze coloured fittings with a patterned silk interior lid and cotton fitted platform with twisted cord trim. The forks weigh a substantial 83 grams, and they have traces of the original gilding. Lovely quality silver. This set is in mostly excellent vintage condition with no pattern wear, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some visible dents and bends to one tine of one fork. The box/case has some slight rubbing to the box's edges and some interior spotting and staining. A stunning hand painted Art Nouveau porcelain centerpiece 1890 1900. This true Nouveau table decoration is likely German or Austrian. This 14-1/4" tall and 10-1/4" wide decorative item would look good on the table or on the mantlepiece. Constructed of two pieces, the bowl and base, it has a figure on a column in the center of the lower bowl, which has finely molded openwork flowing handles. All parts of this display piece are fully handpainted, from the finely detailed face to the fine gold highlights. The finish is mostly matte, with the interiors, body of the figure and central panel in a gloss surface. The interiors of the bowls have a lustre finish. The bowl attaches to the base column with a brass cylindrical mount and sleeve, and this ornate piece is unmarked. The condition of this item is remarkable - it has survived completely intact with no wear, losses or any damage whatsoever over the last 110 or so years. A true survivor. This is a 6-3/4" x 5" double well papier-mache tea caddy with ornate decoration with a porcelain miniature c1850-60. This attractive tea caddy stands 4-1/4" high and the hinged lid lifts to reveal the twin compartments, whose lids have hand carved and decorated mother-of-pearl grips. The wells have a gray painted lining. It has conical decorated gilt brass feet and ornate hand painted polychrome and gold decoration on the lid, base and front panel. An unusual feature consists of a gilt brass mount holding a hand painted porcelain miniature of a lady on the lid. This box retains the original lock (no key), and it has some condition issues: losses to the lid's corners, some loss and darkening to areas of the decoration due to a fire which coated the box in soot, loss of gilding to the portrait's brass mount, splitting of one wood foot, some craqueleur to the black finish, damage to the hinge mounts on the lid (which is detached from the hinges). The soot was gently removed and a lot of the decoration remains - otherwise this is a survivor which can be restored. This handsome caddy is sold in as is as described condition, we do not know a restorer. Two of the forks are hallmarked Edinburgh 1857-58, and four are hallmarked Edinburgh 1881-2. They are all the same size (8" in length and 1 1/16" at the widest), they average 75 grams each, and all have what appears to be a beaver rampant crest. The maker is the same - RG - who may possibly be either R. Green or R. Grierson of Edinburgh. They are all in excellent condition with no worn spots, pitting or damage, & none have been initialled. They show only very minor & expected surface scratches that come from ordinary use, and all are in excellent condition for their age. - $125 ea

A Howard Sterling Co. 4 piece brush and mirror set from the 1890s. This high relief, decorative personal grooming set consists of the 10 x 5" hand mirror with beveled glass, the 9-1/4 x 3" hair brush, the 5-5/8 x 1-3/4" small clothes or shoulder brush and the 7 x 2-1/2" large clothes brush. This vanity or dresser set matches, it has the Howard marks, STERLING, 925/1000 and a patent date of 1892 (PAT. '92.). Not all pieces have all of the marks but they certainly match and each piece has a fancy script AGA (or AJA) monogram. A 19th century Rococo revival silver plated ornate wine bottle stand/carrier c1875-80. This two bottle stand has a Gothic railing surrounding the bottle section, and a handle adorned by the three Graces with birds on the handle. The base has naturalistic slightly rococo flowers and leaves. It measures just over 12 inches in height, and the base measures 12" x 5-1/8". The handle can be unbolted from the base for easier polishing. There is a spot near the base at the bottom of the handle which appears to have been re-soldered professionally at some point in the past, and one spike is missing from the Gothic railing (and a few others are slightly bent). It has been lightly polished and much of the original plating is intact (you can finish polishing it if you wish). This item is in very good original condition with no dents, corrosion, damage or repairs other than stated above. A Sevres style hand painted portrait plate from the 19thC signed Amblet. This late 19thC cabinet or display plate is 9-5/8" across and it features fine gilding, a scalloped edge with high relief gilt vines with a pink ground and a beautiful signed free hand painted central portrait of a pretty young woman picking flowers. The plate has the genuine three part Sevres marks, which include the Louis Philippe 1844 mark (this mark actually dates to the late 19th century), the Chateau de Tuileries wreath and the S. 37 in lozenge year date. The portrait is signed F. Amblet, and this fine example of vintage French porcelain is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs other than a very slight touch of wear to the gold on the ribs where they enter the painted scene.
