| An unusual and early unframed 8-5/8" x 9-3/8" untitled watercolour on paper by George S. Culley (Canadian, 1923-2000) depicting a cottage on a lake. George Culley was stationed in Scotland during World War II and attended the Glasgow School of Art (1944-5) and upon returning to Canada, studied at the Emily Carr School of Art (1949-55). He set up and sold a business and then took up painting full-time. This picture is dated 1942, and it depicts a what appears to be a regatta or sailboat race. It is in excellent original condition with no foxing, staining, bends, tears, losses, damage or repairs. It is signed G.S. Culley .42 on the lower right; this finely drawn scene was undoubtedly painted in Scotland or Europe where he served during World War II. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use. Surface shipping to the continental U.S. starts at $7.30 (other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $95 if paid with a credit card. Items paid with a credit card will be shipped to confirmed addresses only. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US. NOTE: we do not accept PayPal. | ||||||
