| A vintage late Victorian graduated sterling silver solid-link watch chain and shield style watch fob c1890s. The 16-1/2" chain is a maximum 3/8" wide; the 1 x 3/4" (without loop) fob is in the shape of a fancy scrolled shield with engraving and a never-monogrammed planchet. Each link, the swivel and the t-bar are hallmarked Birmingham, England 1892-3 with an H.P maker's mark. The fob is also Birmingham, dated 1898-9 with a CES maker's mark and Rd247739 registry number. This chain weighs an impressive 54.0 grams and it would make a stylish necklace; it is in excellent original condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use.
