| An early and beautiful genuine Aesthetic period covered entree dish by Copeland Spode c1870-90. This 14 x 7-3/4" English serving piece has lush gilding, relief handles and branch-style finial and fine handpainting over transfer. It has grape and vine leaves, feeding birds, foliage and a butterfly; it is stamped (faintly) COPELAND with various underglaze numbers and letters and it has painted D9875 markings. This item is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than two tiny glaze chars on the base's edge (see image) and some minor craze lines at the bottom of the bowl. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use. Surface shipping to the continental U.S. starts at $18 (other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $85 if paid with a credit card.
