| A beautiful vintage Art Nouveau period 9K yellow gold lavaliere necklace c1900. This 9k yellow gold 1-5/8" x 1-1/8" pendant also has a pin back so it may be worn as a brooch, and it comes with a 10k yellow gold 19" fine rope chain with a spring-ring catch. It has bezel-set facetted synthetic rubies with graduated genuine seed pearls; it has a hook for wear on a chain and a c-clasp with a pin slot. It weighs a total of 4.7 grams. Please note that the red colour of the stones appears oddly washed out in our pictures, the synthetic rubies are actually a brilliant true red colour in real life, not pink. Synthetic gems were quite common in this period in lavalieres, as rubies were frequently very difficult to get at the time and were extremely expensive then also, so these stones are original to the piece. This item is in excellent vintage condition with no missing stones, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use.
