A vintage heavy and fine quality set of sterling flatware for 12 in the International Prelude pattern, including serving pieces and a double solid wood flatware chest with drawer. The 101 pieces include 12 each of: -8-7/8" knives -7-3/8" forks -6-5/8" salad forks -6-5/8" cream soup spoons -6" teaspoons -5-1/2" five o'clock spoons -4-1/8" demitasse spoons - plus ten 5-7/8" flat handle solid butter spreaders, two 5-3/4" step-handle solid butter knives/spreaders, one 6-1/4" hollow handle cheese server, one 5-3/4" pickle fork, one 8-1/2" serving spoon, a 6-3/4" gravy ladle and the 5-7/8" sugar shell. This set is in excellent original condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs, it has been well kept and well stored, and does not appear to have been used very often. We photographed the silver before polishing it, as it is easier to photograph, but it will be polished before shipping to the winning bidder. The double flatware chest (top opens and has drawer beneath) is a vintage solid wood chest, approximately 50-55 years old. The chest is in very good intact condition but there is a spot of wear to the finish at the handle and it has a few scuffs. Overall it has a good appearance and the interior cloth is intact also. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use. Surface shipping to the continental U.S. starts at $25 (other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $85 if paid with a credit card.
