| A painted tin thermometer sign advertising Hires Root Beer from the 1960s. This 17-1/4 x 5" thermometer is marked BARKER-66 (for 1966), and it has white, turquoise, light brown, dark brown and woodgrain colours. The wood block holding the thermometer is mounted with Robertson screws and it is stamped MADE IN U.S.A. in red. This sign is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a bit of tanning to the off-white enamel, some very minor flakes and scrapes and some light alligatoring on the painted surface. The colours are bright and unfaded and we would rate this example as excellent. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use. Surface shipping to the continental U.S. starts at $12 (other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $85 if paid with a credit card.
