| An ornately hand engraved English sterling silver footed card salver or tray fully hallmarked for London 1882. This 7-1/4" tray has an unidentified JA over JS maker's mark, for Holland, Son & Slater (John Aldwinkle & James Slater), London. It has a central engraved dedication "PRESENTED TO THE REVd. CRESWELL AND Mrs. STRANGE FROM THE TEACHERS AND SCHOLARS OF THE SMITHAMPTON HOLY TRINITY SUNDAY SCHOOLS AS A LOVING MEMENTO ON HIS LEAVING THE PARISH DECEMBER, 1884." It weighs 208 grams, and it is in excellent original condition with no dents, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a slight out of round bend outwards of one foot (easily fixed). All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use.
