| A Victorian sterling silver engraved pepperette or spice shaker by the famous makers Roberts & Briggs, fully hallmarked for London, England 1861. This 3-7/8" tall shaker has a pierced domed lid with finial and a bulbous body with the fine engraving typical of Roberts and Briggs, it is hallmarked on both pieces and it weighs 50 grams. It has a floral decoration in one cartouche and a rising phoenix engraved in the other; the bottom has an 1137 pattern number and a hand etched JC/M891 number on the bottom. This item is in very good original condition with no bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than three shallow dents on the girdle (easily repaired, and the largest shows some tarnish at the base of the dent, which is not a split). All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use. Surface shipping to the continental U.S. starts at $6 (other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $85 if paid with a credit card.
