| A scarce mid-Victorian 9k yellow gold bar pin with two claw-set real green scarab beetles c1870-90. Anything Egyptian was all the rage at this time, and this 2-1/4 x 5/8" brooch is typical. The beetles are real, this pin has a safety pin-style catch, it is stamped 9Ct and it weighs 3.7 grams; it has a loop for a safety chain and it is in excellent original condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs other than some minor losses to the head of one beetle. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use.
