| A fine quality vintage 1930s strand of graduated individually-knotted cultured pearls with a 9k gold clasp with a sapphire. The 66 pearls range from 3.8mm-8.4 mm.; they are well-matched and have nice light creamy lustre with only a very few slight surface blemishes. The filigree 9k yellow gold clasp has a central genuine sapphire and it is fully hallmarked for Birmingham, England 1936 (maker N.V.W)Vintage cultured pearls have much thicker pearl lnacre than modern examples, and are a good wearable investment. This 16" strand is in excellent original condition with no nacre wear, cracks, discolouration, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than the replacement of the clasp's gold insertable loop, which had broken some years past. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use.
