| An attractive, well-made vintage Mi'kmaq / Micmac sweetgrass and wood splint woven basket c1900-20. This 8" diameter and 6-1/4" tall basket features curled wood splint borders on the lid, side and foot with sweetgrass braids and sweetgrass edging on the lid. It has remnants of red colouring (bright on the interior and on the bottom, faded on the exterior). This basket is in excellent condition with no losses, damage or repairs other than some minor splitting and fraying to the lid's curl handle and some minor colour fading on the top and sides. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use. Surface shipping to the continental U.S. starts at $10 (other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $85 if paid with a credit card.
