| An absolutely fabulous vintage Art Deco pewter-over-wood sheet pewter inkstand c1920s. This desk set consists of the 8-5/8 x 5-1/2" base, with a fitted glass inkwell, a hand-done optical checkerboard Deco motif (stippled and gloss segments) and a matching 8 x 7/8" letter opener, which rests on one of the two channels on the base (the other is for a pen). Also included is a 5-1/8 x 2-1/8" rocking ink blotter with screw-on knob and checkerboard motif. This high quality but unsigned writing stand has bun feet and a cloth covering on the wood base, and it is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. It has the attractive minor surface irregularities found on handmade pieces - a great addition to your desk. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use. Surface shipping to the continental U.S. is $13 (other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $85 if paid with a credit card.
