| An attractive theorum, or study, painted on cloth and framed in a gilt frame. This 6-7/8 x 2-7/8" viewable image, in a 7-3/4 x 3-3/4" frame, has a painting of a flower with two extending leafy buds, and it is signed EX. An ink notation on the back states: "DESIGN TAKEN FROM OLD VALENTINE WHICH READ: 'DEAR FRIEND, I VERY MUCH INCLINE, TO CHOOSE YOU FOR MY VALENTINE, THEY SAY YOUR TEMPER IS SO SWEET, YOU PLEASE ALL PERSONS WHOM YOU MEET'". This item is in excellent original condition with no losses, holes, foxing, fading, damage or repairs; there some minor scrapes to the gilding on the edge of the frame. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use.
