| A vintage Eastern Canada round covered sweetgrass and wood splint basket with colour decoration c1900. This 7-1/2" diameter and 3-1/4" high Mi'kmaq / Micmac or Penobscot basket has a twisted rope-style construction, and it retains bright dyed colours of the bottom and interior, in blue, red and orange. This basket, which was almost surely sold as a sewing basket originally, is in very good original condition with no breaks, cracks, material losses, damage or repairs other than the fading of the colours on the top of the lid. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted. Surface shipping starts at $8 (to the US - other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $85 if paid with a credit card. We do ship internationally.
