| A large, high quality sterling silver hand engraved fruit bowl, made by Birks, Canada's high quality jewellery and silver retailer. This 8-1/8" diameter bowl stands 3-3/4" high; the engraving is first rate and this piece is stamped BIRKS ELLIS STERLING 48/14 (Ellis Bros of Toronto became part of the Birks chain in 1921). It has the 1935 Silver Anniversary hallmarks for King George and Queen Elizabeth, and it weighs an impressive 14.8 ounces of sterling silver. This item is in excellent condition with no cracks, losses, monograms, corrosion, repairs or damage other than a shallow, barely visible crease on the inside (exaggerated in our picture and not noticeable on the exterior except under close examination).
