| An early 20th century English Arts & Crafts period silver plated egg stand consisting of 5 footed eggcups with the carrying stand c1905-10. The eggcups are mounted on bolted shafts, which is attached to a round base with a loop handle with spoon rests. This design is remarkably simple and stark for a set of this period - the eggcups rest on three globe feet, and the spoon rack has a simple curved design that would not look out of place with a set made now, a linear and elegant design in keeping with the Arts & Crafts design ethic. The tray is unadorned and round, and rests on bun feet. Each post support for the eggcups is attached by hand cut threaded bolts (can be removed for a thorough cleaning), and this set measures 5-1/2" across and 6-1/4" high. It is marked TB&SS with a crowned EP and a gothic style R plus the pattern number 7772, for the manufacturer Thomas Bradbury & Sons, Sheffield. It's elegant design is timeless, and would fit nicely with a modern room design. This set is in excellent condition, with no dents, bends, monograms, corrosion, repairs or damage other than a bit of barely noticeable blush of brass on the tops of some of the eggcups.
