A 12k yellow gold Victorian hair brooch pin circa 1850 1880. This 1-3/8 x 1-1/8" brooch has fine hand tooling and engraving and it features an oval beveled glass window with a retaining bezel. It contains a curl of brown hair and it has an MCP monogram on the back. It has a later gate latch clasp which is stamped 14K (replacing the original c-clasp) and this pin weighs 5.7 grams. It is unmarked and tests as 12k gold and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use.
