A mother of pearl silver plated fruit set for 12 in the original box from the 1900 era. This late Victorian or Edwardian unsigned set features the solid stained wood box (probably oak) and it has a satin lined lid with fitted plush mounts for the 24 pieces of cutlery. It has a tray holding half the set which consists of the fancy engraved 7-1/2" knives and the 6-1/8" fruit forks. The box has the original lock (but no key) and it has a gilt shield on the top which has never been monogrammed. This set is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, losses, damage or repairs other than some surface silver plating corrosion, minor pitting and wear and a warp to the box's lid which also has some minor scuffing and some wear to the black papered bottom. This set is priced with condition in mind, and you can have the metal replated if you wish. This item is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use.
