A superb quality late Victorian period 14K sunburst brooch c1895-1900. This 14k yellow gold large sunburst convertible pendant brooch measures 1-1/4" in diameter, and has 40 lovely graduated natural pearls mounted on curved rays of the sun shaped brooch interspersed with large pearls on gold stalks. The pearls measure from 2.5mm - 3mm, and the pearls on stalks measure 3mm each. All pearls are of excellent creamy white lustre and they are superbly matched. The pin itself has a pin with c-clasp, which can be unscrewed and completely removed with a threaded finger screw in the shape of the number 8. There is a swing-up loop (in 10K yellow gold) separately attached to allow the pin to be worn as a pendant, or to be mounted on a hatpin or pinned into the hair for evening wear. There is a 22 point round European cut genuine diamond (SI-1 clarity, G-H colour), bezel set in the center. The craftsmanship is simply superb, this pin is of the highest quality. Convertible pins were usually only sold in quite high-end jewellery shops. Intact convertible pins are seldom encountered, and this example is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, dents, alterations, losses, repairs or damage other than a tiny bit of bending to the tip of the pin. It comes with a recent independent gemmologist's appraisal, with a value of $1700 CAD. Shipping is insured surface or air mail or FedEx. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US.

An unusual late Georgian period rolled gold plate mourning frame with a plaited hair insert and daguerrotype of a gentleman. This is a large engine turned oval frame c1820-40, with an oval glass insert section on the back, containing a lock of plaited and waxed hair. The front of the frame contains a large Daguerrotype (negative/positive image on polished silver) of a gentleman that is slightly more recent than the frame, dating to around 1850s-1860, by his style of clothing. The workmanship on this 2-5/8" x 2-1/8" ornate frame (measurement doesn't include hanging loop) is superb, both in execution and in detail. The hair insert is original, with its original glass and bezel and the daguerrotype itself is in good condition with some haloing on the edges and minor spotting on the man's cheek. This attractive frame has ornate deeply carved engraving around the frame edge and around the back hair insert section. It is in very good condition, with no chips, cracks or damage other than a recent repair to the suspension loop which was broken off and reattached, and there is some minor wear on the back of the frame. Tracked insured surface shipping starts at $21 (to the US - other spots may vary) - insurance and tracking included in shipping quotes. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US. PLEASE NOTE: We DO NOT ACCEPT PAYPAL.

A classic 14k Victorian period agate brooch c1870-80. This is a 14k yellow gold pin with a hand engraved setting, with fancy claws holding a polished oval gray-white agate, which has almost the look of a moonstone. This natural agate stone has ripples resembling fish scales when it is held up to the light, and it is semi-translucent. The polished center is concave and it has inset gold rivets; this pin measures 1-5/8" x 1-1/4" and it closes with the original c-clasp. It is unmarked, but has been tested as 14K, and is guaranteed to be 14k gold. This item is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, losses, corrosion, repairs or damage; the stone has the expected slight internal cleaves visible only under back lighting. A beauty, and a wonderful gift for a fan of Victorian jewellery. Trackable surface shipping starts at $12.50 (to the US - other spots may vary). We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US. Please note that we DO NOT accept Paypal.

An elegant late Victorian period 10k rose gold tie or bar pin c1880-90. This antique solid gold 1-3/4" bar or tie pin features an oval cabochon natural gray lace agate with a lovely glowy quality, and subtle orange tinged banding. The agate alone measures 1" x 1/2", and this pin closes with the original c-clasp. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, losses, corrosion or repairs but there is a split vicible in the gold bezel (setting) surrounding the agate (see picture 5). The gold bezel holding the agate is entirely soldered to the pin base, so will not split further, and only needs re-soldering for aesthetics, if preferred. The mark besides the 10K is an anchor, a maple leaf with an E and a lion, which are the marks used by P.W. Ellis & Co., Toronto (1852-1928). Tracked surface shipping starts at $19.50 (to the US - other spots may vary, xpresspost air is higher) - insurance/tracking is included in quotes. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US. PLEASE NOTE: We DO NOT accept Paypal.

A 1-13/16" x 1-1/2" early to mid 19th century period rolled gold plated hair / mourning or photo brooch c1830-50. It is set with a lovely pale grey on grey banded agate with an insert glass covered window. The window is oval and has the brass pin mounts where it attaches to the agate, which has a bevelled edge; the border is a hand engraved rolled gold plate wire twist design. It has the original c-clasp and brass pin, and the compartment is covered by a bezel set glass window (no hair or photo present). This unusual brooch or pin is in excellent condition with no chips, losses, corrosion, repairs or damage other than two stress cracks in the agate (one on each side with one through the stone and the other surface only) and a crack through the window glass (interior fissure - doesn't reach surface). The cracks in no way affect the integrity of the piece and they are very, very minor in appearance. An unusual Victorian beauty! Surface shipping starts at $6.70 (to the US - other spots may vary) - insured is higher. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US. Please note that we do NOT accept Paypal.

A large and heavy 8-1/2" Georgian Dublin sterling silver dinner fork, hallmarked for 1829. This heavy fork has an attractive double dolphin crest on the back of the handle and has the maker's mark for Matthew West and Peter Moore. Otherwise this fork is in unusually excellent condition. Please note that our photos are taken before these items are polished to enhance detail; they will appear better than our scans and will be shipped to you cleaned and polished.
