An English Georgian period pair of hand painted soft paste porcelain cake bowls or baskets made by Derby, England circa 1800 1825 (this firm was later known as Royal Crown Derby). These 11" x 8-1/4" baskets have the red painted Derby mark of this period, and they feature wonderful floral hand painted sprays and gilding. This pair is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, staining, repairs or damage other than some minor loss to a bit of overglaze painting on one bowl (restorable) and some overall fine crazing. We seldom see pairs of fine cake baskets from this period any more. A Victorian child's ironstone dinner set circa 1860 with 35 pieces. This rare and early 35 piece set is one of the most complete we have encountered, and it has many serving pieces; it has a black transfer design. It was made by Livesley Powell & Co. of Hanley, Staffordshire, England (1851-1866), with the BEST LP & Co. maker's mark found on three of the rim soup bowls only. This set includes: two 4" across the spout and handle gravy or sauce boats, six 4-1/2" dinner plates, six 3-5/8" salad plates, four 3" bread and butter plates, six 4-1/2" rim soup bowls, 4-3/8 x 3-1/2" oval open vegetable bowl (some minor browning), a set of three platters (5-5/8 x 4-1/2", 5-3/8 x 4-1/4", 4-7/8 x 3-7/8" (tight hairline resembling craze line showing on both sides)), 4-1/4" high and 4-1/2" across the handles covered round footed entree dish, a second footed entree dish without the lid, and, amazingly, the soup tureen complete with ladle, lid, bowl and underplate! The soup tureen itself consists of the 5-7/8 x 5-1/4" fitted underplate (underglaze "PRINTED" stamp on bottom), 4" across lid with ladle opening, 4-1/2" ladle with transfer design, 5-5/8" across the handles footed base (minor browning). The tureen stands 6-1/4" high, and this amazing set is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs unless stated; please note that all pieces have fine overall crazing and a few have the expected very minor firing flaws found in items of this vintage. An R.A. Kidston 20" London scene United Kingdom meat platter circa 1840. This is an early Scottish large blue transferware well and tree meat platter in blue transfer. This platter stands on two bracket feet and the juice well; it is stamped R.A.K. & Co. UNITED KINGDOM LONDON for R.A. Kidston and Co. Finnieston (part of Glasgow) Scotland who used this mark from 1838-1845. The Coysh & Henrywood Blue and White Printed Pottery reference book mentions this series, but not this actual scene of London - I have never run across this pattern piece before. It is in good condition with no cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than some fine overall crazing, a bit of minor bruising to one foot rim (intact with no losses), a 5/8" edge chip and some staining (mostly on the back). A very rare set of (probably) English 9-7/8" plates in a variant of the original Blue Willow pattern. We haven't been able to accurately identify this pattern with its distinctive border butterflies in our books, however they are definitely Georgian. The porcelain is the expected light gray and the decoration is slightly blurred and each plate has the expected frit and minor variations from the manufacture of these items. It is quite unusual to find a matched set of four of these plates and one has a partial gold seal from the British Antique Dealer Association (B.A.D.A.) which guaranteed that the plates were over 100 years old at the time of sale (many decades ago). They are unsigned and are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a 5/8" loss to the surface glaze on the rim of one plate only. An authentic and vintage Dutch Delft blue and white 9-1/4" plate. This plate has a floriate design and it has the expected blue-tinged underglaze. An English hand painted Gaudy Welsh tea set by Allerton's, consisting of the 6" high teapot (including finial), the 5" tall large covered sugar bowl, the 4-3/4" tall milk or cream jug, four 2-1/2" tall cups and four 5-7/8" fitted saucers. Including the lids there are 13 pieces and each is handpainted with cobalt, orange, green and copper lustre. the shape and decoration are undoubtedly those of Allertons however the saucers are marked with what appear to be impressed date stamps (from 1928-29). The sugar and teapot have a 30 mark - it was illegal to sell unmarked china after 1891 so this set would appear to predate that year due to the lack of markings. Or not. This set is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs except crazing to the creamer, sugar, one saucer and one cup. An early English 7-3/4" high large footed comport or tazza made by Wedgwood in 1878-9. This elegant Neoclassic design table serving piece measures 12-3/4" across the two handles and features fine hand painted gilding, a black transfer design (on top and underneath the plate) and relief molding to the handles, edge and foot. It is in the Corinth pattern, which is marked in underglaze black transfer lettering, and it is impressed WEDGWOOD PEARL with GH over P, 1813 pattern number and a triangle mark. This item is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs other than some very minor glaze rubs to the underside of the top edge in afew spots. A Royal Crown Derby 6452 hand painted covered entree dish 1907. This fine quality English bone china covered oval entree dish is dated 1907and it was made by Royal Crown Derby in the 6452 pattern. This 11-1/4" x 7-3/4" serving dish has a cobalt band with matte gold painting including a grape vine motif and white enamel jewelling. It is marked on both pieces with the orange ROYAL CROWN DERBY ENGLAND 6452 mark, the M year letter (for 1907) and an underglaze stamped DERBY 6-07. A Georgian English hand painted Imari dessert dish or platter circa 1800 1820. This 11-1/4" x 7-1/4" unmarked bowl features gold, orange, cobalt, teal, green and purple painted floral designs. Although it lacks an indent, it is possible that this is the platter that went beneath a tureen. It is 1-3/4" deep at the deepest point, so we are also calling it a s dish or shallow bowl. We have so far been unable to identify the manufacturer or pattern, but it is entirely consistent with English late 18th to early 19th century manufacture. It is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor wear to some of the gold. A pair of 8-1/2" sterling silver serving spoons in the Strasbourg pattern, introduced by Gorham in 1897. Each has the PAT. 1897 Gorham sterling lion and anchor mark along with an X in a circle and STERLING and each has a script E monogram. The pair of serving spoons weigh 113 gr. A pair of German 800 silver viande serving forks in the original box. This elegant and high quality pair of 800 silver German 8" viande or meat serving forks are in their original fitted box and they date to the 1900 1910 era. These forks are stamped 800 with the crown and eagle mark (Frankfurt, pre-1888), most likely produced by Bruckmann and Sohne (1805-1973). The forks are an interesting combiation of elegant Neoclassic revival design paired with the elements of Jugendstil - note the graceful and simple fork shape and crisp design to the ends of the handle. The 9" x 3-1/2" box is a tan coloured watered silk with a Greek key border and bronze coloured fittings with a patterned silk interior lid and cotton fitted platform with twisted cord trim. The forks weigh a substantial 83 grams, and they have traces of the original gilding. Lovely quality silver. An Ironstone tea or tobacco leaf teapot and 8 petit four plates 1860s. A matching English ironstone 8-3/8" tall teapot and eight 4-5/8" petit four plates, all with a tea or tobacco leaf variant in gold with gold trim. The teapot has some relief design on the feet and near the top, and the petit four plates have twelve sides. A group of four hand painted German porcelain cups and saucers by Helena Wolfsohn c1870s-80s. Each has fine floral decoration with garlands and gold trim and highlights, both inside and out. Each has a blue ground and all have the blue Wolfsohn backstamp (crowned D over Hand painted Dresden Saxony). One has "Handgemalt" instead of handpainted, and all have the gold rose overstamp. The cups stand 2" high and the saucers are 5-7/8" across, and each saucer also is stamped with a retailer stamp.
