An R.A. Kidston 20" London scene United Kingdom meat platter circa 1840. This is an early Scottish large blue transferware well and tree meat platter in blue transfer. This platter stands on two bracket feet and the juice well; it is stamped R.A.K. & Co. UNITED KINGDOM LONDON for R.A. Kidston and Co. Finnieston (part of Glasgow) Scotland who used this mark from 1838-1845. The Coysh & Henrywood Blue and White Printed Pottery reference book mentions this series, but not this actual scene of London - I have never run across this pattern piece before. It is in good condition with no cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than some fine overall crazing, a bit of minor bruising to one foot rim (intact with no losses), a 5/8" edge chip and some staining (mostly on the back). A classic style English sterling silver footed 3-3/8" tall handled creamer, fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1931. It has the maker's mark of Adie Bros. Ltd. A 10k mourning pin with hair circa 1860-70. This unmarked mid-Victorian 10k yellow gold 1-3/4" x 1-1/2" mourning hair brooch features a (tested) 10k yellow gold setting with either an onyx or black enamel ground in which is inserted a blonde hair arrangement under glass. The hair is curled, with gold wirework and seed pearl decoration. This pin has no inscription, it has a c-clasp (the pin is not gold), and it has an attached gold filled safety chain and pin. A 12k rose gold shell cameo brooch pendant circa 1870-80. This 1-1/2 x 1-1/4" pin pendant features a maiden carved out of a yellowish-grey shell; it is bezel-mounted in the gold setting (unmarked but tested (both 12k and 15k gold were used as part of the United Kingdom gold standard until 1932). The setting has a gate-latch clasp and a fully swivelling folding loop for wear as a pendant. This 19th century 12" serving tray features a scalloped edge with modified shell decorations; the engraving has shells, boughs, florals and fruits as well as a complex monogram in the center. A Rogers Intl Remembrance silver plated large water pitcher. This "Go-With" silver plated serving piece is from the International 1847 Rogers Remembrance flatware pattern. Along with the flatware, many patterns had serving pieces available which were all expensive and seldom purchased; they included tea sets, pitchers, trays, etc. This is the 10" tall water pitcher which is stamped REMEMBRANCE 1847 ROGERS BROS. EPB 9817 IS; it is in good condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs other than the loss of some of the interior silver plating (see picture). A 1970s pewter and glass necklace by Jergen Jensen of Denmark. The 1-7/8" x 1-1/8" pendant is on the 21-1/4" long original chain with a spring-ring catch. The pewter has a soft brushed finish, and the pendant is stamped PEWTER JERGEN JENSEN DENMARK 360 A. A fine hand painted and gold trimmed Dresden factory painted porcelain lidded jam or marmalade pot by Donath & Co. c1900. This 5-1/2" tall serving piece features different floral scenes on each panel between the footed columns and on the lid; it is marked with DRESDEN with the crown mark for Donath & Co. (1893-1916), and it has a gold rose painted over the Thomas maker's name. It also has the retailer's stamp for Ryrie Bros. Ltd. of Toronto (who were bought out by Birks in the 1920s). A pair of English Imari lustre jugs from the 1830s. This decorative unmarked pair of early to mid 19thC English jugs or pitchers is in the Imari colours with pink Sunderland luster. The largest is 8" tall and the smaller is 7"; both have embossed decoration and are hand painted. These jugs are in excellent condition with no cracks, losses, damage or repairs except for some minor glaze flakes and craze lines on the upper rim of the larger jug, some allover crazing on the smaller jug, a couple of straight-line craze lines on the smaller one that don't appear on the external side of the piece, and some very minor spots of wear to the decoration. A large 10K rotating hair brooch with photo 1860-70. This opulent (typically unmarked but tested) 10k yellow gold rotating or turning hair brooch has a photo on the other side. This mid-Victorian 2-5/8 x 2-3/8" pin features a finely plaited brown and blonde hair display on one side and a hand-tinted albumin photograph of a bearded and bald gentleman on the other. Each side is under glass and the center display rotates freely on its perpendicular pivot. It has its original c-clasp and attached loop for wear as a pendant, and it weighs 27.6 grams. The photo has some red blush added to his cheeks and lips; this is somewhat faded in our photos and it is quite apparent in real life. A Victorian ornate silver and gold plated watch chain circa 1870s. This antique ornate 13-5/8" watchchain is 7/16" wide and it consists of six nickel plated base metal oblong links with fine engraving. Each link is attached by thick loops. Every alternating link has gold plated engraved inserts held with three thin metal bands. It has a swivel and it is unsigned and unmarked. A early to mid 19th century period 12k yellow gold watch fob pendant with a shield shaped genuine rock crystal stone. This 7/8" tall fob measures 1/2" x 3/8" across, and it has a genuine bevelled shield shape natural rock crystal stone held with a bezel. The stones has foiling on the back, still visible but dulled and slightly loose with age. It is unmarked but tests as 12k, and it weighs 1.9 grams (the British Empire had 12K as part of their gold standard until 1932). A vintage two-volume set of "The Letters of Robert Louis Stevenson", selected and edited by Sidney Colvin. The publisher is Metheun and Co., London, England 1900, and this set is the second edtition. Each has hand-cut pages, gilding on the top edge, gilt purple endpapers and cloth bindings with title stickers applied to the spines. Each is tightly bound and includes a tissue-covered plate of Stevenson and an extra spine sticker tipped in to the endpapers. The books measure 6-1/2 x 9" and they have 375 and 384 pages (vol. 1 and 2). This set is in excellent condition with no losses, damage or repairs other than some foxing to the tissue, plate and title pages (not affecting the images) and some slight foxing to the extreme edges of the papers on the outside. Only a few pages have some light spots showing near the extreme edge, and the covers show slight rubbing to the seams and some bruising to the top and bottom of the spines. This hand-decorated Japanese Imari palette Meiji period 12" porcelain charger has six floral panels with floral and building designs; the colours are in the Imari palette with cobalt, gold, orange, red, green, yellow and blue.
