A vintage cotton-backed 83 x 19" Chinese embroidered silk bed hanging decoration c1880-1900. This beautiful fringed hanging has wonderful embroidery, including gold and multi-colour silk thread depicting flowers, butterflies, fish, people and many other symbolic figures and images. It is mounted on a powder pink cotton backing and it has a fine 7" fringe and edge netting. There appear to be some Chinese symbols or a signature and an initial on a cotton corner. It has sewn red loops on the back of the fringe edge for the suspension of some article(s) and the top has a sewn fold for hanging much like a curtain-on-rod. This item is in excellent original condition with no rips, tears, fading, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor soiling to the cotton backing and some traces of thumbtacks from previous hangings. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use. Surface shipping to the continental U.S. is $10 (other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $85 if paid with a credit card. A high quality, bright and colourful Belgian design woven tapestry cotton and silk table runner c1900-10. This beautiful 52" x 26" table runner features flowers and phoenix birds, and the colours include blue, red, gold, lilac and silver. The verso design itself is also quite attractive, with black, lilac and green. This item is in excellent original condition with no losses, damage or repairs other than some minor fraying to a few areas of the black stitched edging and a small stain on the reverse not affecting the front; the colours are bright and unfaded. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted.
