An attractive, high quality hand painted Japanese 15-1/8" x 8" lacquer tray c1920s. This tray features black lacquer over wood with lush gold accents on the edge and both handles; the central scene is of two fighting roosters in orange, brown, silver, gold and red. It is marked MADE IN JAPAN, and it is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than a small loss to the lacquer near the bottom rim and some very slight spots of soiling and rubs. There is a touch of warping to the tray, which sits very slightly elevated at one end. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use. An antique cotton-backed 83" x 19" late Qing period - Xuantong era Chinese embroidered silk on silk satin bed hanging c.1908-12. This beautiful fringed hanging has wonderful embroidery, including gold thread and multi-colour silk thread depicting flowers, butterflies, fish, people and many other symbolic figures and images, with fine short and long stitch embroidery and extraordinarily fine seed stitching. It is mounted on a pinkish cotton backing and it has a fine 7" fringe and edge netting. There are some black silk embroidered characters with the Xuantong era date. It has sewn red loops on the back of the fringe edge for the suspension of some article(s) and the top has a sewn fold for hanging much like a curtain-on-rod. This item is in mostly excellent vintage condition with no tears, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor soiling to the cotton backing and some traces of thumbtacks from previous hangings and slight wear. One of the gold thread sections is pulled for about 1". An uncommon item. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use.

A high quality late 18th-early 19th century Chinese Canton enamel bowl on bronze with original gilding c1800. This lobed 7-3/4" x 6-1/4" beauty stands 3-1/8" high; the hand enamelling is particularly fine, done to the Chinese taste, and the rim retains much of its original gilding. The interior is a pale water blue enamel, the bottom is speckled white, and the upper rim has a Greek key design border. This bowl is in superb original condition, with no cracks, scrapes, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a slight touch of wear to the gilding on the edges and some minor discolouration spots to the interior enamel. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use. A large and well made Chinese low grade silver filigree brooch c1900-20. This 3-3/4" x 1-1/2" pin has natural cabochon turquoise and coral stones, and it closes with a safety catch. This pin is of low grade silver (around 50%), and it is stamped MADE IN CHINA. An unusual printed silk short haori kimono jacket c1950s. This jacket features a simple and colourful design, and it also has a patterned fabric half-lining. It has no tagand it appears to have been mostly hand stitched. It measures 34" long and 23" across the shoulder from sleeve edge to sleeve edge.
