An attractive and vintage 10-1/2" high (without handles) deep handled Micmac or M'ikmaq tribal basket c1920s-30s. This attractive deep basdket features woven sweetgrass handles and ash splint construction, with some original green, orange and red colour remaining, especially in the interior. This item is in excellent original condition with no chips, losses, damage or repairs other than one tiny break (see image) and some very minor splits to a few of the curls. Please note that the green on the interior is much more intense than in our pictures, and that the colour is more light faded on the exterior, although still visible. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use. An attractive, well-made vintage Mi'kmaq / Micmac sweetgrass and wood splint woven basket c1900-20. This 8" diameter and 6-1/4" tall basket features curled wood splint borders on the lid, side and foot with sweetgrass braids and sweetgrass edging on the lid. It has remnants of red colouring (bright on the interior and on the bottom, faded on the exterior). This basket is in excellent condition with no losses, damage or repairs other than some minor splitting and fraying to the lid's curl handle and some minor colour fading on the top and sides. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use. A 9-1/2" tall (including handle) Micmac or Penobscot East Coast native basket c1920-30. This basket has a round bottm changing to a pointed oval at the top, with a handle. It has the expected curls in two bands along the body, and this example is undyed. This item is in excellent original condition with no cracks, splits, breaks, losses, damage or repairs. A colourful and vintage c1950s-60s Native American beaded bolo tie. It is signed "MRS. LIZZIE (illegible)" on the deersking backing, and the glass beads on this 38" long tie (19" when worn) include green, pink, white, red, orange, yellow amber, metallic and various other colours; it is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor stretching of the elastic retaining strap on the deerskin back. A vintage Eastern Canada round covered sweetgrass and wood splint basket with colour decoration c1900. This 7-1/2" diameter and 3-1/4" high Mi'kmaq / Micmac or Penobscot basket has a twisted rope-style construction, and it retains bright dyed colours of the bottom and interior, in blue, red and orange. This basket, which was almost surely sold as a sewing basket originally, is in very good original condition with no breaks, cracks, material losses, damage or repairs other than the fading of the colours on the top of the lid. A splendid, vintage Cree handled satchel or carrying bag with superb hand beading c1920s-40. This 17" x 16" bag has 6" high braided deerskin handles and a superb multicolour hand beaded 14-3/8" x 12" panel on maroon coloured felt. The beading in in a floral style and this cotton-lined unsigned bag is in very good original condition with no losses, damage or repairs other than a small 3/4 x 1/2" area of moth damage and a few thin spots from moths on the felt (see picture) and some minor surface soiling to the deerskin. A vintage Native North American Indian beadwork knife sheath with colourful applied beadwork on a fringed deerskin hanger c1950-60. This 13-1/2" x 7-1/2" (including fringe) knife sheath has a tall loop for hanging off of a belt; the stiff applied beaded sheath cover is held on by twisted brass wire. It spells out "Jack" and it has iridescent purple/blue, white, orange, green and pale green beads. It is in excellent condition with no repairs or damage; there is a loose thread and some sewing holes near the top of the loop, possibly from a now-missing small bit of bead ornamentation.
