A splendid solid bronze Art Deco design inkwell with a stunning enamel inkwell cap with a galleon in full sail. This 6-5/8" x 4-7/8" ink stand has a pen rail, and it has the original clear glass inkpot. The cap is in sky blue, white and sea blue enamel and it has a wonderful brass galleon with clouds and ocean waves. The cap sits (no hinge) on the inkpot, and this inkwell is signed BUTLER JONES (NAMEPLATES) LTD. LONDON - we are not sure if this came from an office, or even if this firm is still in business. The mounts and rubber-washer mounted feet are secured by brass screws and this inkstand is in excellent condition with no dents, monograms, corrosion, repairs or damage other than a small flake and some slight scratches to the enamel, none of which go through to metal.
