A well-made and attractive sterling silver handled cake basket c1915-20, made by Roden Brothers (bought out by Birks, Canada in the 1920s). This 9-3/4" diameter basket stands 7-3/4" high to the top of the handle; it has an openwork handle and rim with nice hand engraving. It is unmonogrammed, it weighs 15.45 ounces, it is stamped with the Roden mark and 925 STERLING, and it is in excellent original condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. A fine quality pair of weighted sterling silver candlesticks in the classic style Plymouth pattern, made by Gorham. They are "go-with" pieces to the flatware pattern and they are stamped with the Gorham sterling marks plus A5585 and they have the Gorham year symbol for 1909; they measure 9-1/8" in height, with a base measurement of 4-7/8" x 3-7/8" across. The bottom is solid and enclosed and they are in excellent original condition with no bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs except for a few minor repairable edge dents on the bobeches (the removable pieces on the top of the sticks). An unusual, high quality English sterling silver and glass mechanical jampot or marmalade pot with original spoon, fully hallmarked London, England 1937. Made by the Goldsmith & Silversmith Co., this unusual 3" across and 6-1/4" high (to top of handle) jam pot features a simple yet complex sterling silver top that includes a mechanism which lifts the hinged lid when the handle is lowered. It bears the British patent number 5518, and it has an engraved hyena and lion crest with the motto "IN PORTU QUIES" (there is rest in port). It has a hand cut star pattern in the base of the pot. It comes with the identically hallmarked original 5-1/8" sterling jam spoon.
