An attractive vintage Sami design Swedish .830 silver wedding spoon c1946. This 4-5/16" hand engraved silver spoon has the traditional bridal crown engraved at top and twelve rings, six on each side. The top of the spoon shows a young groom and the bowl a reindeer galloping through the snow with mountains in the background. The loops on the spoon apparently represent the number of reindeer in a bridal dowry. It has the three crown Swedish silver hallmark, along with the city mark for (I think) Lund, and the date mark of U8 for 1946. The maker's mark is FO (Fritz Olsson of Lulea) and the S in a six-sided box indicating it was made to be sold in Sweden rather than exported, and that it has a silver content of .830 or higher. It is in excellent condition, with no cracks, corrosion, wear, damage or repairs. Small packet surface shipping is $6.95 (to the US - other spots may vary, air is higher) - insurance to $100 is included. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US. PLEASE NOTE: We DO NOT accept Paypal.
