An attractive, well painted Japanese 10" x 6-3/4" lacquer over wood box c1900. This box has a richly painted scene of a bird, tree with flowers and leaves and a curved fence with mountains and a lake in the background. The thickly applied colours include textured black (tree), gold, orange and grey. This box has a black interior and the original lock (key missing) with a metal escutcheon plate; it appears to have been used as a cigar box in the past however, it could be used for many things. It is unsigned, and it is in very good condition with no losses, damage or repairs other than bruise showing wood on the lid's lower right corner, some minor lacquer losses at two of the edges and on the upper edge of the lid. Please note that the bright edge on the front of the box in the first picture is reflection of the gold decoration, which is intact. A Royal Doulton Room for One Early Motoring series ware plate. This rare 10-5/8" series ware display plate from the Early Motoring series was produced by Royal Doulton from 1905-28. This plate depicts the scene called "Room for One" (D2406); it has the black Doulton mark, a letter E below the pattern number and an underglaze 11-06 (or08) (for 1906 or 1908). A hand painted porcelain lamp - Noritake? This fine quality porcelain lamp has gilt metal mounts and it is in the Prattware style. It is most likely by Noritake - we were unable to disassemble it for examination to say definitely. It has 3 colour Greek mythology-style portrait medallions and a Greek key band at the neck all on a deep and vibrant orange ground; it measures 12-1/2" from the base to the top of the decorative upper metal collar (excluding the 15-1/4" shaft, socket, harp and finial). It has a replaced socket body and it has been rewired in the past; it is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs (other than mentioned above). A pair of 1950s German wood, iron & silver plated candlesticks. This cool, retro Modern pair of German teak, silverplate and bent iron candlesticks consists of a three-light and a two-light unit; each has a teak base, a silverplated mounting plate and candle cups and bobeches. The candleholders are mounted on a silverplate-trimmed painted black iron support. They are stickered "Echt Teakholz" and "Made in Germany", they measure 7/8" long and the triple light stands 5-1/8" high. This pair is in excellent original condition with no cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs other than some very minor losses, spots and scrapes to the silverplate and the loss of 5 out of 8 felt pads on the bottom (easily replaced).
