A large gilt brass highly embossed powder box c1900. This box measures 4-5/8" across and it stands 1-5/8" high; they were made to commemorate and early 1900s World's Fair (St. Louis?). This one includes the original clear glass liner, interior gilding, and the original mirror in the lid. It is unsigned, and we have seen these with paper tags stating their World's Fair origins (the tag is missing on this one). This dresser or vanity item is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, scrapes, dents, monograms, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs; the gilding is intact except for the very bottom at the rim, and the mirror has only slight speckling of the silvering. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted. Uninsured surface shipping starts at $9.50 (to the US - other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $100 if paid with a credit card. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US. Please check out our policy page for shipping and payment information (click on HOME on the upper right, then on the INFO AND POLICY button).
