A vintage yard long advertising framed picture of a beautiful woman with pink roses on the front, with a Pabst Extract tonic advertisement on the back c1915-16. Popular in the 1900-30 era, yard-long prints were used to advertise drink, food, medicine and cosmetics and the advertising sides were usually very nicely illustrated with calendars or illustrations. The picture side was usually hung as art prints, often portraying attractive women. This example is from c1915 and it advertises the Pabst Brewing Co.'s tonic with ad copy and green ink graphics. Condition is good, with some trimming (about 1" off the top and some off the bottom, leaving a print measuring 23-3/4" x 7-1/4". The bottom section were sometimes trimmed if they had a space for the advertiser, as we believe this advertising print originally did. There is some browning and minor water staining along with some light creases and minor losses or bites to the paper edge as well as an old ink inscription. The highly coloured lady side is visually clear of these faults except for a crease just above her hand (most of the flaws are visible on the mostly plain advertising side). The 24-3/4" x 8" frame is in good shape with minor scrapes (can be touched up). We haven't identified the image, artist or age of this advertising print but a segment of *RY remains of a signature at the bottom. This item is in good original condition with the condition issues noted above. All
items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. Surface shipping to the continental U.S. starts at $19 (other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $85 if paid with a credit card. Items paid with a credit card will be shipped to confirmed addresses only. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US. NOTE: we DO NOT accept PayPal.

A matched pair of 9-1/4" x 6-3/8" colourful tin litho advertising wall signs from Shapleigh Hardware of St. Louis, advertising their Diamond Edge products. The HOPE WORK SUCCESS sign has the printed cleaning instructions on the back, with the National Series No. 1531 legend and its original black twisted string for hanging. The GREAT SCORER adage sign has an applied cleaning sticker and the number 1426; it also has the original string. These 1920s advertising signs are in very good to excellent original condition with no bends, breaks, losses, damage or repairs other than a small dent on the upper left corner and a touch of paint wear on the left bevelled corners on the HOPE sign and some minor graphic rubbing and loss on the SCORER sign, which also has a touch of bevel wear on two corners, some water spots on the backing and tears at the string hole mounts. The indent visible at the bottom left sign was caused by a bunching of the cloth in front of the sign when it was photographed - it is not a dent or loss on the sign, just fabric. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use. Surface shipping to the U.S. starts at $7.50 (other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $85 if paid with a credit card. Items paid with a credit card will be shipped to confirmed addresses only. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US. Please note that we do NOT accept Paypal.

A really attractive English antique tin. This is a quite tall 13" high lithographed tin made by the English firm Hudson Scott & Sons c1900-10. This tin has high relief foliate borders, center embossed cartouches of ladies against a hammered texture ground, and angular Arts and Crafts style handles, all with lithographed mahogany wood graining. It has the company mark in very tiny print near the base (Hudson Scott & Sons Ltd. Carlisle Eng.) , and this beauty is very good condition with only slight scrapes to the lithography, which remains mostly intact with its original shading and colours, but it has no lid, which we assume it did have one originally. Hudson Scott is closely associated with Carr's biscuits and sweets (also located in Carlisle), but there is no Carr or other company designation on the tin, although it may possibly have held sweets or biscuits also. I am not sure what the lid would have looked like, as I have never run across this lovely tim before. It will require a fairly large box, so surface shipping starts at $10 (to the US - other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $85 if paid with a credit card. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US. Please note that we do not accept Paypal.
