A group of four 6" sterling silver dessert cake forks with crossbar in the Roden Bros. Louis pattern. (Roden was bought out by Birks in 1928). Similar in shape and size to salad forks, cake forks have an added crossbar across the tines. Here's a weird one - a late Victorian mechanical hat form used to size and manufacture hats. This is the scarce Allie Maillard Hat Conformateur from the late 1800s (possibly 1870s-1890s). It is constructed of nickel plated metal with ebonized wood components. It has the Allie Maillard mother of pearl nameplate on the top as well as mother-of-pearl washers under the screws which hold the halves of the base together. It retains the original top with the fitted cork lining, plus the fittings for securing the pins which hold the hat form arms. We're not hatmakers, but we think the pins are held by the cork after they are slid outward for the shape of the hat; the wood upright slides are held in place by the long spring which fits along the extruding grooved wood pieces along the base. This hat form is an excellent survivor, with no losses that we can see. Condition is excellent, with some surface corrosion to the nickel plating, some dirt and dust and minor scrapes to the ebonoized wood, and one broken upright wood slider (intact and easily repaired). Two mother of pearl washers are missing, but this item is in great shape for its age and it is ready for cleaning and refurbishing. A must for your shop or collection. All

A pair of scarce advertising miniature tin cups given away as premiums in Zig Zag confections at the turn of the century. The first has floral decoration and the D.L. Clarke company logo and name, a box of the Zig Zag confection and the name of the Franz Euler Co. of New York, the manufacturers of the premiums and advertising items used by Clarke to promote their products. Zig Zag was a product similar to Cracker Jack, and these premiums were included in boxes of the product. The other cup depicts the confection box as well as a picture of Clarke's Zig Zag Pepsin gum. Each is lithographed with bright colours and each has interior and bottom gold toning. They are in very good condition with the following condition issues: 1)the first cup has a bent handle, some minor losses to the gold wash, and some moderate scrapes and dings to the decoration, however the graphics are strong and legible 2)the second (gum) cup has an intact handle and it is somewhat less scraped than the other. A vintage c1920s Buchanan & Lyall Just Suits Cut Plug tobacco tin. This 7-1/2 x 5 4-1/2" tin has orange/red graphics with gold, it has a carrying handle and a side locking tab, and the lid opens up. This item is in very good condition with no bends losses, damage or repairs other than a dent on one spine, some minor spotting to the graphics, some minor rusting to the interior, and some dulling and residues on the lid. This watch features the self-winding rotor, it has the sweep second hand, and it has a date under an applied magnifier. It has the Rolex crown, the back is marked ORIGINAL OYSTER CASE BY ROLEX GENEVA, and the works are stamped TUDOR 35 RUBIES SWISS MADE AUTOMATIC-PRINCE. The number stamped between the lugs is 905040, and inside the works it is stamped 2784. This watch works perfectly and keeps time well, and it is free of abrasions, scratches and other signs of excessive wear.
