An unusual, vintage 19th century 9-1/2" tall drugstore or general store heavy bottom bottle with an acid etched label. The fancy etched label states I. MERKEL & SON. SARANAC LAKE, N.Y., it has a neck with collar and a 3/4" thick pedestal style base, probably for stability when on display in a druggist or chemist shop. Merkel had an early bottling plant in Saranac Lake, and later opened a department store. This is the only etched Merkel bottle we've encountered - the rest have been labelled (soda, etc.) and all are embossed. This bottle is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs - there are numerous tiny fisheyes (none can be felt on the outside of the bottle), some minor soiling which we haven't attempted to clean, and moderate surface abrasions and surface scratches as well as the expected wear on the bottom from use. All
items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. Surface shipping to the continental U.S. starts at $17 (other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $85 if paid with a credit card. Items paid with a credit card will be shipped to confirmed addresses only. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US. NOTE: we DO NOT accept PayPal.

A vintage, dated 11-1/2" spinning motion lamp in the Yellowstone Falls pattern, made by the L.A. Goodman Mfg. Co. in 1956. This lamp is all original, and it has a gold plated brass base, an inner plastic spinning red-screened cylinder with cutout cardboard air vanes and the original cord and suspension elements. The outer stationary lamp shade is screened plastic with a waterfall/campground scene on the outer layer and an attached blue, green and red inner colour cylinder. This item is in excellent original condition with no cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than the following: some minor losses to the gold plating, a minor surface loss to one vane, some internal cracking to the upper cylinder and cardboard mounts (internal and not affecting the operation or the external smoothness of the shade), three small scraped areas showing white light when the lamp is lit (see pics) and some slight fading to the campfire side. Please note that these flaws are minor, and this lamp is completely free of dents, creases, warps, and melts commonly found on these fragile lamps, and the mechanism and effects are working fine (see images). All
items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. Surface shipping to the continental U.S. starts at $13 (other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $85 if paid with a credit card. Items paid with a credit card will be shipped to confirmed addresses only. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US. NOTE: we DO NOT accept PayPal.

A wild vintage early 1950s haute couture fashion bandeau hat in genuine branch coral and celluloid. This hat measures 11-3/4" around the exterior and 6-3/4" at its widest; it has internal flexible wire structure to hold it to your head. It was made by the famous Bes-Ben company of Chicago which was known for their outre hat styles, many of which were purchased by the top entertainers and stars of the day (and at top-market prices for the time). This hat features celluloid beads and molded flowers hand-sewn with real pieces of authentic branch coral; it is in excellent original condition with no major losses or damage other than some thread traces visible on the front from a clumsy older stitch repair with brown rather than the original coral thread (see image) - this can be re-done/restitched quite successfully if you have coral coloured thread, as it just needs to be restitched to the coral coloured mesh. All
items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. Surface shipping to the continental U.S. starts at $8.50 (other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $95 if paid with a credit card.
