A simple and elegant Mexican sterling silver brooch and earrings set by Carmen Beckmann of San Miguel de Allende c1960s. They have a striking swirl design that is made more dramatic by the deep oxidized channel. They are signed BECKMANN MEXICO STERLING (the two centre letters of Beckmann are missing because the brooch was stamped where the brooch raises up in the centre...). The brooch measures 1-7/8" across and the earrings (which are screw-backs) measure approximately 7/8" across. The clasp is a c-clasp with a simple but effective lift up latch to help secure the brooch next to it. The set is in excellent condition, with no cracks, dents, damage or repairs. A great looking, beautifully made 7-1/2" long and 1-1/4" wide Mexican sterling and 14K gold bracelet c1970s. This bracelet features a great curving pre-Columbian style, and each 1-1/4" x 1" panel has a finely tooled and different applied planchette of 14k gold, each one showing a different classic Mexican motif. This bracelet is stamped STERLING 925 0.925 D.F. and it has an eagle (also called bell) mark with the number 40, which was used by Reveriano (Reveri) Castillo - it does not have the RC mark, and it is possible someone else may have used 40 also. Reveriano Castillo worked for both William Spratling and Hector Aguilar before opening his own shop with his wife Maria. This item weighs 47.5 grams, it has a slide catch, and it is in excellent original condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than that one loop linking the segments appears to have been replaced. A set of fine Mexican silver jewellery with colourful inlaid abalone shell c1940s-50s. This set consists of the 6-7/8" x 5/8" hook-end bracelet with five links and the complementary 1-3/8" x 1 " screw-back earrings. The bracelet is stamped TAXCO MEXICO 950 EH and the earrings are stamped TALLER CB 925 TAXCO; both are in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. A scarce signed vintage Los Castillo Mexican sterling brooch in the shape of a Mayan head with free-swinging arms. This elegant solid cast 2-3/4" x 1-3/8" silver pin weighs 16.1 grams and besides the Los Castillo Mexico round mark it has the bell mark with 15 and a design number 136. It was apparently purchased originally in the 1950s. I have been unable to resist wearing this brooch - it looks great on and has received many compliments. It is in excellent original condition with no bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. A large, well made Mexican sterling silver shadowbox brooch c1950s-60s. This hollow pin consists of a pierced cover with a phoenix or eagle cutouts mounted on a backing of silver; the front is convex and the base is patinated in black for contrast. It measures 2-3/8" across, it weighs a substantial 25.9 grams, and it is stamped STERLING TAXCO MEXICO RCD. It has a safety clasp pin and a loop for wear as a pendant, and it is in excellent original condition with no scrapes, dents, monograms, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. A fine and vintage Mexican sterling Matl-style pendant and bracelet with dyed green green onyx cabochon stones c1930s. The green stones (dyed green to look like jade) are set in Mexican pre-Columbian design sterling links. This set consists of the 6-5/8" long and 1" wide link bracelet with snap catch and the 1" diameter pendant. There is a later 24" chain with a spring-ring catch on the pendant. A beautiful sterling & copper fleur de lys design pin and matching earrings set c1940s, by the brilliant Mexican silver master Hector Aguilar. The pin is pictured on page 108 of MEXICAN SILVER by P. Morrill and C. Berk. The pin measures 2 1/2" across, and the earrings measure 1 1/4" x 7/8". Besides the Hector Aguilar mark, the pieces are marked 940 (for silver content) and Taxco. All pieces are in perfect and original condition, and the earrings are the original screwback style.
