A well-designed vintage 1950s-60s Mexican sterling silver and inlaid crushed stone necklace signed by Los Ballesteros. This unusual semi abstract beauty measures 14" long when stretched out and 7/8" wide at the largest segment. Each panel contains simple silver waving lines or silver waving lines and a circle set into crushed stone; it could be an abstract moon over water, or not. It has a hook and eye clasp and the assorted pieces of crushed stones consist of lapis, malachite, agate and possibly turquoise set into some material (rock or stone possibly, but not resin). It has the Ballesteros mark and STERLING 925 HECHO EN MEXICO, and this artistic necklace weighs 40.8 grams. It is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. A lovely triangular butterfly wing sterling silver pin c1920s. This British pin features a colourful bird on a tree under a glass dome. It has an unusual triangular shape and the colours are a purple/blue, orange and green. The tree is painted, and this 1" across pin closes with a c-clasp. It is marked SILVER PAT APPLd FOR. This item is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, losses, corrosion, repairs or damage; the butterfly wing is colourful and vibrant with very little browning, and there is only a bit of lifting of the black background on the lower right of the pin and a small scuff on the glass at the bird's feet. It has a simple loop, and it weighs 19.6 grams. A beautiful sterling & copper fleur de lys design pin and matching earrings set c1940s, by the brilliant Mexican silver master Hector Aguilar. The pin is pictured on page 108 of MEXICAN SILVER by P. Morrill and C. Berk. The pin measures 2 1/2" across, and the earrings measure 1 1/4" x 7/8". Besides the Hector Aguilar mark, the pieces are marked 940 (for silver content) and Taxco. All pieces are in perfect and original condition, and the earrings are the original screwback style. This unsigned necklace tests as high grade silver (.900 or higher, mark obscured), it weighs 24.1 grams, it has 1/4" loop-linked segments and a slightly more recent silver plated spring-ring catch, the triangular drops have beaded flower-like designs and twisted-wire dangly fringe; it is at least 65 years old and may be older.
