An early 18K authentic Georgian diamonds ring c1780-1810. Commonly worn on the second (index) fingers, these rings were usually sold in pairs. This size 9 ring weighs 2.8 grams and it retains its original cushion-shaped rose cut diamonds (Mazarin cut). The six graduated diamonds measure 2.1 x 1.5 mm, 2.1 x 2.0 mm, 2.3 x 2.1 mm, 2.5 x 1.3 mm, and 2 x 1.4 mm and they are held with finely tooled and designed claws (total diamond weight 50 points). This ring has a set of obscured hallmarks (due to wear and re-sizing) but it tests as 18k gold, and has a current independent conservative gemmologist' appraisal for $900 CAD. This item is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor traces of sizing.
